January is a hard month pre pandemic, but now, in isolation it’s going to feel even harder for some. Be compassionate with self, and don’t compare where you are at with other peoples stories. Right now, we are being guided to go within, reconnect and rest.... It’s not what we did last year. We won’t be doing it next year. I can’t think of another time period in my life time when the world has been given such a large pause to be home with family more. Not even after child birth. This adds some big woah thoughts to my mind, anyone else?? Im raising a son. And there is as little patriarchal ruling in my home, as I can cleanse out.... My son is sweet, sensitive, wild and messy... he cries, he cuddles, he loves big. Mother Teresa said, if you want to change the world, go home and love your family (and I am always up for good conversations, engage please) For me, Im starting with my kids. Im surrounding my kids with like hearted families. I hug my son when hes upset, and I encourage my daughters to build, take apart, get messy, ask questions! They are encouraged to communicate. I hope I live to 90. I want to see how my son and his peers change the world by being fathers much different then, well mine. I see the hurt posts of how individuals of my generation were taught respect through being smacked on the ass... but youre pain is showing through in that one sentence. Thats not right. My (unspanked) kids have more respect and love in them then my generation ever did. So if we want boys to be boys, and that to mean something different, then we must raise them different. And, all children we are bringing up in this world. Boys, girl, non binary, gay, queer and transgender. #westcoastsoul #soul

Being an Empath means, you are hard to lie to. It means having a deeper knowing, without knowing how or why. It means you can read a room and sense danger faster then others. It means when something feels right, you do not hesitate.... As we begin this session of virtual Soul Circles, I chose to begin with Empathy, because on my journey, once I began to understand how being an empath affected me, my whole life changed. Priorities became clear. Relationships that just didnt suit me were easier to let go of. I could finally fully step into who I was, confident! Authentic! I found like hearted women. To me, this is so important. Self care can be as simple as a full night sleep, and a shower. It can be feeding your body healthy foods and taking a moment to savour them. It can be silent meditation or being around those you love.... You choose what you need, and the rest will follow. Gift bags are ready for the youth registered! Everyone who signs up for @genempowered virtual sessions gets a bag to keep them engaged while we talk. (Actually most every program, circle, class, offers something)... They learn to write out their feelings on all subjects. Their privacy is honoured as they do not have to share what they write. We are empowering youth to know they are worthy. Worthy of individual thoughts. Worthy of privacy, boundaries, respect. It amazes me how far, knowing and believing in self worth will carry us. 2 programs under 1 umbrella! Why? Its quite simple really. ... I hear stories and experiences from women all day every day. So many of the negative experiences could have been prevented with some proactive guidance through self worth, boundaries, community... But its not being taught. Not in schools, not in any scout or guide programs. As a single mom of 4 kids, I get the exhaustion. We want to model all of this for our kids, but at the end of the day, we are exhausted. Without support. This is where my partner @amanda.elia and I stepped up. To offer families support in creating proactive programs, inclusive, to youth. I know the logic behind, I must love all my experiences to love who I am now but theres still that fantasy of wishing it hadnt been so many hard and hurtful experiences to get me here. Let us support you in giving kids the gift of self worth. Our next virtual session begins this Monday. $50/youth. Programs were designed for youth within the maturity range of 7-12, but NOONE in need is going to get turned away. We asked each participant of our first virtual series this, I wish Generation Empowered... (Finish this sentence) We asked them what they would change, what t...hey wanted more of, what they didnt like. If you ever want an honest answer, as a kid! And they said... More on anxiety, it really helped. I wish it was in person so I can meet my new friends. (Soon as we can sweet one!) I wish it went longer. I wouldnt change anything! (Thank you) I wish the schools taught this (me too) This fall, more then ever before, I think we need to invest in offering our kids something with stability, foundations and that gives them some freedom. We begin each meeting with a theme, but also follow the energy of the kids and take their lead. If we are talking about anxiety, we want to know how they feel about anxiety, and go from there. Letting the kids speak, think, answer verbally or in the chat or just in their own journals. The more times we cover it, the more the build on their own foundations. Amanda and I created this program based on, what we wish we had learned, earlier and maybe a bit easier. Even in zoom we have been able to create a safe space for our youth to open up, and they do! All inclusive of age, race, religion... geared to kids within the maturity of 7-12, but open to all. I invite you to invest in your kids!
