FORE THE KIDS Meet Johnny Hall. A local lad who (at the age of 5 years old) was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Today Dave, Mel and Rae delivered a Lego table and boxes of Lego for Johnny to enjoy. These items were purchased using some of the proceeds from The Longest Day of Golf which our staff and community support each year.... Even though it was raining when Dave, Mel and Rae delivered these gifts, the happiness shown by this little guy when he saw his table and Lego made it feel like the sun was shining. FCHS DONATION In June of this year, Farm Mutual Re, the reinsurance company for Canadian mutuals, provided each of their 48 voting member companies with a lump sum payment to distribute to charities, not-for-profits and other organizations within their communities not able to hold normal fundraising events or receive donations from the public. Since receiving the Farm Mutual Re donation, WE Mutual has distributed just over $16,000 with our latest donation being to the Four Co...unties Health Services Foundation. Each year the foundation holds a fundraising golf tournament that WE Mutual supports. This year because of COVID, FCHS isn’t able to hold the tournament, hindering their ability to raise funds for much-needed equipment. WE decided to donate what we would normally spend supporting the tournament and match it with some of the Farm Mutual Re money. On Tuesday 13th, a socially distanced cheque presentation was made to Tom Jeffery and Colin Palmer from the Four Counties Health Services Foundation by Vic Lapadat (Chair) and Brian Downie (President/CEO) of WE Mutual.
