Our Coquitlium branch raised some dough for Aunt Leah’s! The branch sold and delivered delicious doughnuts with Krispy Kreme’s help, throughout the mainland, and raised over $1,000 by utilizing The Communities Foundation Matching Grant. Aunt Leah's Place has helped prevent children in foster care from becoming homeless and mothers in need from losing custody of their children. A spokesperson for Aunt Leah’s mentioned how grateful they were and that community partnerships and awareness is vital in supporting youth. These funds will directly provide support through the holiday season during COVID-19." #WesternGives

A lot of hair and a little bit of dignity: an easy price to pay for charity. A valued member of Western Coast, our friend and team lead Jeffrey needed our help. Jeff, like many of us, has not had a haircut since the pandemic began. As you can see from the first few progression photos, Jeff was willing to do anything for a cut, and this is where the Communities Foundation Hair Raising fundraiser began. Jeff kindly offered to make things interesting by setting some fundraising goals starting from $150 for a buzz to $500+ for the be creative category. Together, the team in Victoria raised $2,378 for the Victoria Elder Care & St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program from the fundraiser.
