For some, this pandemic has caused a change of routine, for others it means working harder to keep vital supplies moving... Lets hope that no matter the circumstance, youve taken a moment to breath in and appreciate the beauty that is evident all around us- especially those lucky enough to call Canada home! Happy 50th Earth Day! #EarthDay #BeautifulBC #VancouverIsland #Canada
We always love to see what our students are doing now, with their career at sea! A big thank you to one of WMIs graduated students, Mathew for this beautiful shot of H.N. Hodder bringing a tow into the mouth of North Arm Jetty in Vancouver, B.C! Keep up the good work guys! #tugboat #marinetraining #lifeatsea #westernmaritimeinstitute
A reminder to everyone to check up on their friends, family members and neighbours... this is an unprecedented time for everyone but there is help for those who feel they need it. #covid19 #weareinthistogether #wellnesstogethercanada
We hope everyone is staying safe and (for those who can)... staying home! For our wonderful essential workers (and a lot of our students), we thank you for your continued hard work and dedication at this time! #stayhome #weareinthistogether
Extinguishers! Heres an example of one of our students learning how to respond to an emergency situation, and correctly addressing that emergency with a fire extinguisher. An important part of MED STCW BST course is the hands-on aspect as it prepares students for what they can expect in the event of a fire on-board their vessel!... PTASS- pull pin, test extinguisher, aim, squeeze, sweep! #MarineTraining #Firetraining #EmergencyResponse #Studentsof2020 #Firesimulation #VancouverIsland
To give insight into our MED STCW BST course, we sent one of our Admissions reps, Connie, in for some training...check out her experience. Will we be seeing you on our next course? These records denote Connies experiences of going through the MED STCW BST course at WMI.
We love hearing the stories from our students about their travels! Whether it is ice breaking in the Arctic, tugging logs in the coastal waters of Canada to all other Marine operations! A big thank you to all of our students and fellow Mariners who are working hard to keep vital supplies moving and to ensure the safety of essential travel during this time!
At this time, Western Maritime Institute is not contactable via telephone. Due to this, our Admission Reps are contactable only via Email for any questions or concerns. https://www.maritimeed.com/contact/ We are in this together #COVID19
