A successful patrol last night with a lot of ground covered. A few dark streets and houses but mostly everyone had lights on or motion sensors. We came across a few people hanging around rainbow park at 130am, but otherwise it was pretty quiet out there.

I've been asked if there is anything we need in order to do what we do best for our community. Yes, infact there are a couple things we could use. High visibility vests, strong and bright flashlights, batteries and possibly an amber flashing strobe light for our vehicles for when we are out Patrolling late at night. Thank you all for your support!

In the past 5 days we have had a lot of interest, from people wanting to know how to help or volunteer. This is a very positive time for us to see so many people show such interest in the Neighborhood Watch. Within the next week or so we plan to host a small gathering with those people interested, if you would like know more please send us a message. In the meantime, you can continue to help by reporting any suspicious activity. ... Thank you all for the continued support!

Knowing what to report to the neighborhood watch is crucial, lost or found pets? That would be better suited in the "Westsyde Its Our Community" group. Thefts, suspicious activity are things we need to know about. And if we cannot help then we will direct you to someone who can. Together we can make a difference!

We are few, we are your neighbors and friends, we volunteer our time to help safely patrol our streets, our schools and our parks. We are The Westsyde Neighborhood Watch! Keep an eye out for us, as we will be keeping an eye out for you.

In these unprecedented times, we remind you to look out for each other. We continue to patrol, when we can and hope that everyone stays safe, during this time!

Looking for input. We go out on patrols and they have been relatively quiet. Lots of deer, lots of lit up areas (great work) - But we seem to be just missing out on observing and reporting - on active nights. The Westsyde Community is diligent to report suspicious activity (including when we turn around in someones driveway - Ha) - but it's disheartening to read that bad stuff went down, on a night patrols happened. We vary our times, patterns, vehicles...but open to suggestions.

Tip of the day: Locking your vehicles and leaving nothing in them, is a great deterrent. A lot of times, the bad guys are just walking along checking door handles and having a quick look inside. If the door doesn't open, or nothing inside catches their eyes, they'll most likely move on.
