This angers me so much

Somebody felt the need to call northern health and work safe bc on us for non- compliance of masks. Since Dr. Henry has made masks mandatory we have listened and are wearing our masks while we have customers in our chair. We follow the strict guidelines and protocols for social distancing and sanitization. However in our lunchroom. We do not wear our masks. That is our private area and our safe zone or breathe zone! We also have a barber that is exempt and customers who don’t... feel comfortable with that have 3 other barbers who do and will wear a mask while cutting your hair. We DO NOT POLICE the mask policy to customers, and here is why: * it is not our job. Our job is to cut hair, and serve our customers to the best of our ability. * it is not our business if people are exempt to ask why they are exempt. So if someone is not wearing a mask in my chair, you need to assume they are exempt. *we all agree to continue to serve our customers who are exempt from mask wearing, with dignity and respect. There are a number of reasons people could be exempt and we feel they should feel comfortable coming into our place of business without being sneered at or harassed and without worry that another customer will call us in for not making it mandatory. We are a small business who needs to continue to work. Trying to have us fined is unacceptable. So to whoever called in on us, I really wish you would have given us the benefit of the doubt and had the conversation with us. Yes we do adhere to the mask policy! Yes we do still serve customers who are exempt! If this concerns you, we can always work out a situation as to where everyone feels safe and comfortable. P.s. obviously anyone who sees my personal Facebook page knows that I question the theory behind masks. We all have a right to our own opinions. To our valued customers, here is our COVID-19 commitment to you: * Washing our hands after each customer. * Disinfecting our instruments between each client to prevent cross contamination.... * Cleaning and disinfecting our stations after each client. * Disinfecting waiting area chairs and our interact machine after each use. * Vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing our floors at the end of each day. * Our waiting area seating is spread 6 feet apart per chair And there is 6 chairs available to sit and wait. * We must prohibit visitors. So unless you are a caregiver with the person getting a haircut please wait elsewhere. * For all parents out there, if you have more than one child 12 and under please bring only one child in the Barber shop at a time. We realize this may be a problem for some parents, if this is the case for you, please call us at 778-414-3333 and discuss a time when we can make a spot available to you if needed. * For all seniors and immune compromised customers we will open Thursday thru Sunday at 8 AM for you. Our regular start time is 9am. * In our haircutting area our stations are 7 1/2 feet apart. We will only be using hair products that are pumps, sprays, or mousses to limit cross-contamination. * Children pre-K and under can have one parent or guardian with them in the haircutting area. * We will have an occupancy limit of six customers in our waiting area and four customers in our haircutting area. We have a number system ordered, it will be here by June 1 and we are hoping this will make it easier for people to wait. You can take a number, Just like at the hospital and you can see how long your turn will be, so if you don’t feel comfortable waiting in the waiting area you can wait outside in the parking lot or even go do a little shopping or something if The wait time is that long in between. Generally, on an average, it will be 15 to 20 minutes per number. * Please feel free to wear a mask if you want. However you must supply that for yourself. * There is a hand sanitization station set up just as you walk in the Barber shop, please use this when you walk in. * Do not enter the barbershop if you are feeling unwell, if you have any flu like symptoms, for example, runny nose, fever, cough, sore throat. Or if you have been in contact with anyone with those symptoms in the last 10 days. Hello everyone!!! I have been getting several calls texts and messages on wether we are open. We have been mandated closed. We can not physically stay 2 meters or 6ft from our customers.... We hope everyone is listening to our public health authorities. Stay home Physical distance Wash hands We need to break the chain of disease, so we can all get back to work! Update ***** Hi everyone!! I hope everybody is practicing physical distancing and staying healthy and safe. I certainly realize how much I LOVE my job!!! I miss everyone! It’s obvious we won’t be back cutting hair when I had hoped, in the mean time we will be waiting patiently like a lot of other people to get back to work! A major THANK YOU to all of the front line workers right now! We thank god for you all!
