Positive news. Opening of the track is imminent. Details are yet to be finalized but distanced training and timed events are on the agenda. More to follow.

Kelyn Akuna was someone I looked up too. He had an easy manner, natural charisma, and despite his achievements was humble. I encountered him while working as a track attendant at the Burnaby velodrome. At the time, he was running a long term development program to introduce aboriginal youth to the velodrome. It was clear that he was an apt teacher and gentle motivator, always careful to lead by example. I’ve never heard him set limits on any athlete’s potential. The track community will miss him.
