To reduce the risk of developing chronic disease, healthy adults aged 18-65 should get 30 mins of moderate intensity aerobic physical activity 5 days per week, or 20 mins of vigorous intensity aerobic activity 3 days per week. Our Physiotherapists can help prescribe the right level of exercise for you based on your health history. Our Kinesiologist can create a customized exercise plan based on your goals (ex. cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular fitness, flexibility and range of motion), ensure you are using correct technique, and progress your exercises as you improve. Let us help you get into a healthy workout routine today! Call to book in 250-768-5907 #westkelowna #westbank #physio #physiotherapy #kinesiology #exercise #cardio #fitness #health

Are you suffering from dizziness and vertigo? BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) is the most common cause of vertigo. It occurs when the otoconia (crystals) of the inner ear are displaced within their semicircular canal. Your physiotherapist can assess which canal is affected, and help you with the corresponding treatment. Let us help you treat this condition today!! Anatomy lesson The rotator cuff of the shoulder consists of 4 muscles: supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, and subscapularis. Supraspinatus initiates abduction of the arm, infraspinatus and teres minor externally rotate the shoulder, and subscapularis is responsible for internal rotation of the shoulder. It’s important to keep these muscles strong in order to prevent injury. Our Physios and Kinesiologist can teach you exercises to work the rotator cuff muscles, and you can access videos of your exercises through our online exercise program app. Call us to book an appointment 250-768-5907 #physio #physiotherapy #kinesiology #shoulder #rotatorcuff #westkelowna #westbank
