According to Jean-Louis Croisier in his article, Factors Associated with recurrent hamstring injuries, the most likely ones [factors contributing to HSIs] are inadequate warm-ups, invalid structure and the content of training, muscle tightness and/or weakness, agonist/antagonist imbalance, underestimation of an extensive injury, incomplete or aggressive rehabilitation, among a few others. Addin...g appropriate stretches and strengthening into your fitness regimen may help prevent these injuries as well as create better stability for the knee. Sources: Croisier, J-L., 2012.
