Westside Run/Walk Club will be continuing throughout the winter! We welcome every body, every pace, every distance. Bring your friends/neighbours/co-workers. It's a wonderful and safe place to be in community as brothers and sisters.

Come out for a run / rollerblade this Saturday May 23rd at 9:30am. Meet at the bird statues in Olympic Village right outside Craft Beer Market (route/distance can vary!). You can put your belongings in our cars. Tons of free/cheap parking in the area. EVERYONE, every pace, every distance are welcome! Walk/joggers - come out too! Invite your friends/ neighbours/dogs. This is a great opportunity to bring people to the Lord (even if they are not ready to come to church yet).... We will also be doing a quick prayer before we head out. There are coffee shops in the area to grab a take-out snack and hang out (2 feet apart) Reach out over Facebook or text if you have any questions, feedback or suggestions. Maggie: 604-754-6645. **From now on, Run/Blade posts will be in the WSO Run Club (link in the'Groups' tap on this page). Please refer to our most recent post outlining how WSO is moving forward in stage two of this pandemic in a safe way.

Hello Westside Outdoors! As BC enters the second phase of its pandemic response plan, health officials in are sharing more guidelines for how people should go about increasing their social interactions. When it comes to seeing people in person, they stressed that meeting outdoors is preferable to meeting inside. Beginning on May 14, 2020, BC Parks, recreation sites and trails that can accommodate physical distancing will reopen for day use only. Westside is cautiously fol...lowing the guidelines presented by the BCCDC and the BC Government Website. This is where you can find the most up to date and accurate information: 1) http://covid-19.bccdc.ca 2) https://www2.gov.bc.ca//current/covid-19-novel-coronavirus Slowly moving forward with WSO, we need to follow the key public health measures that can be used to reduce and delay community transmission of the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19: Hand hygiene (including touching one's eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands) Respiratory etiquette to minimize the dispersion of large particle respiratory droplets when an ill person is coughing, sneezing and talking to reduce virus transmission. Environmental cleaning and ventilation (cleaning of frequently used surfaces and objects to help to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 to help to mitigate the risk of people becoming infected through self-inoculation after touching contaminated surfaces). And obviously don’t share water or food during outdoor events. Social distancing avoiding crowded areas and staying 2m apart at all times. If your bubble already includes seniors or people with ongoing health conditions that make them vulnerable to severe infection, use extra precautions. Self-monitoring for the occurrence of symptoms compatible with COVID-19. Refer to the Self-Assessment Tool: https://bc.thrive.health With a beautiful summer upon us, we are looking at starting up 9am Saturday morning RUNS with alternating Sunday morning CYCLES. We will be meeting up in either Olympic Village or English Bay, depending on the week. Stay tuned for more information and potentially more activities! *These activities are contingent on how the province responds to phase two and are subject to change based on the BC’s evolving guidelines. Questions? Maggie: 604-754-6645
