YAY!! It’s back to school week! Welcome new and returning students of Westside Tutor! We are so excited to help support you and your goals this school year. Here are a couple of tips from Tutors to help ease you back into the classroom... ... Prepare yourself with a routine. Whether it’s waking up to go for a walk, listening to music, or pouring a glass of fresh orange juice, developing any kind of routine is a great first step toward hitting that back to school grind. Implement morning activities that you enjoy so you have something to look forward to when that alarm clock rings. Life gets busy! Track your homework and activities. Make sure you’re tracking your extracurricular activities, work schedule and social events in one location. Being organized doesn’t always mean you need a printed, paper planner. If you work best with alarms or reminders, try downloading a planner app to your phone to schedule all your appointments. Utilize your classroom time. Is your teacher finished the lesson, but you still have 15 minutes left of class? Get a jump on some of your homework while it’s still fresh in your mind. You may surprise yourself and complete more work than you think. Don’t let a bad grade keep you down. A rough start to the semester doesn’t have to sink your GPA. Westside Tutor can help navigate students through online programs such as teacher websites, online reading programs, university and college entrance exams, and more. We have acted as a testing centre for SCIDES distance education and can assist with homeschooling. Westside Tutor understands the busy schedule of student athletes from working with local Kelowna sports teams and is able to help students stay on track with their studies while on the road.
