Hi everyone, We have started our own YouTube channel! The channel features: follow along lessons, conditioning/stretching exercise programs, and kumite/kata basics. This is a great resource for all of our students to prepare for upcoming belt gradings, competitions, and also help those who wish to further their training by practicing at home.... While our dojo is closed, students are still encouraged to submit video footage of their training and send it to me. I will be happy to offer some constructive feedback. Check out this video below for a sample ‘follow along’ lesson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9H0DhL_MnNs&t=1576s Take care, stay safe, and keep practicing! Sensei Matt

Hi everyone, We hope everyone is doing as well as they can be during this difficult time. Based on the advice from medical professionals and community officials, we have decided to close the dojo for the next two weeks with classes resuming March 30th (the same schedule as public school's spring break). This is the plan for now, but will email to update on any changes.... We hate to do this and are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Despite our efforts to keep the dojo and church space as sanitized as possible, we feel it would be irresponsible to continue running classes considering how volatile the Covid-19 situation continues to be. Our goal is to be a leader in the community, and we must do our part to encourage social distancing so that we can slow down the spread of Covid-19. Again, we are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause but are grateful for your patience and support during this difficult time. Thank you

Congratulations to Barsa for being our March Student of the Month! Barsa is being recognized for his hard work both in and outside of the dojo. As a result of his effort, he has shown consistent improvement over the past several months. Hard work really does pay off! One of the most important aspects of training karate is self-growth and development. Barsa has challenged himself several times by competing in local tournaments and doing a great job. He has shown significant i...mprovement in his ability to focus, his coordination, and his overall technique. We are also proud of Barsa’s attitude, and are regularly impressed with his resilience, positivity, sense of humor, and kindness. Congratulations Barsa! Keep up the great work, and nothing can stop you from achieving what you want!

Student of the Month - February Frances Christiaens-Tung Congratulations to Frances for being our February student of the month!... Frances has been a consistent high-performer in her class from the day she first started her training. She is focused, intelligent, respectful, and tough. She has grown to be one of the leaders of her class, and always volunteers to help out with demonstrating new techniques or helping out in the dojo. We are proud of Frances because she also shown courage and perseverance when participating in tournaments. She has pushed herself outside of her comfort zone, and in the process has grown in self-confidence and gained important tournament experience. Lastly, it must be noted that Frances is a wonderful big sister to her brother Damian (who is also a fantastic karate student). She is patient, kind, and sets a great example for her little bro to follow. Way to go Frances!

Congratulations to Tanner for being our January student of the month! Tanner is being recognized for his consistently positive attitude, commitment to karate, and his fighting spirit. Without fail, every time we see Tanner training, he is doing his best and has a big smile on his face. He has a big heart, a brave spirit, and brings fantastic energy to the dojo. This energy is contagious and spreads to his classmates which creates a wonderful atmosphere to train in. Tanner tak...es his training very seriously in class, and even spends time at home practicing his techniques. Tanner’s attendance is also fantastic. We can’t remember the last time Tanner missed a class! This attendance shows how keen and committed Tanner is to his training and we are very proud of his example. Great job Tanner! Keep up the great work and nothing can stop you.
