Every year we stop to recognize and pray for the lives lost on September 11, 2001. There were many service dogs that worked alongside first responders to recov...er victims and also to provide comfort to those responding to the unthinkable. We will never forget the selfless acts of service asked of so many during such a difficult and uncertain time. This remains true today as we face a global pandemic; service dogs are just as important as ever. We thank these dogs and their handlers for helping our citizens each and every day whether for search and rescue, scent-work for bombs or drugs, as service companions, or those that provide humans in distress with much-needed comfort therapy. *Photo courtesy of the American Kennel Club

Check this out! This is a fecal sample under the microscope. There’s clostridium (Blue arrows) which is a bacteria that’s normally found in the soil and in the dogs GI tract but can produce a toxin which causes diarrhea. There are eggs in there which looks like Toxocara eggs ( pink arrows). This is a common internal parasite which is why we recommend regular deworming! Eeek!
