Today for our #MeetTheTeamMonday we introduce someone who is very passionate about inclusive employment in our community! Meet Meagan - "Hey everyone! I’m Meagan and I have been with the Wor-Kin Shop since April of 2019! I am the Employment Coordinator and get to oversee both our Supported Employment program and our TEAM Work Crew! My favourite part about working at the Wor-Kin Shop is getting to see individuals grow and succeed and seeing their pride when gainfully employed.... I love all of the fun and laughs that are had with the work crew. I also love the opportunities available for staff. Since starting, I have been able to obtain my Supported Employment Essentials Certificate, be involved with the community, as well as present at the National CASE Conference this past September! When I’m not at work, I am most likely out walking my dog or spending time with my friends and family." See more

Starting this new year with a #MeetTheTeamMonday, we introduce our Executive Director - Jeff! We are very lucky to have him on our team! Here is more about him: "Hi! I’m Jeff and I’ve been the Executive Director at the Wor-Kin Shop since March of 2020. There are many reasons why I love coming to work everyday, but one of my biggest thrills is when our team comes together to make a special experience for someone. That might be a new job, or even a day at a hockey game. Whatever fills someone’s bucket. Outside of work, I’m happiest spending time in our community, and spending time with family and friends."

It's #MeetTheTeamMonday and we have another important team member to introduce! Kyla started with the Wor-Kin Shop as the Work Crew Supervisor and Job Coach but has recently transitioned into a Direct Support Professional position. "Hi I’m Kyla and I have been with the Wor-Kin Shop since July. I am now in the role of a Direct Support Professional and get to work with all of the amazing individuals. My favourite part of my job is supporting individuals to live their best life.... We always have lots of fun and there is never a dull moment. When I’m not at work I am staying busy with my two daughters, doing yard work out at my farm, or taking care of my dogs!"

Because we can’t come together as a team to celebrate the holidays like we usually would, we decided to empower our team to do something different this year. We challenged each employee to splurge on a gift for themselves from one of Weyburn’s local businesses. We’re so proud of our team and for their dedication, and for how they embraced this challenge. Here are just a few of the local businesses that our team supported Route 39 Clothing Co., Country & Co. Home Decor, Fuel & Kat's Shop, Megan Hill Birdsell, Mary Kay Consultant & Makeup Artist, Expressions Ladies Wear, The Source, Pet Valu Weyburn, Iron+Mane
