WFS remembers and honors those daughters, mothers, grandmothers, aunties and LGBTQ and Two-Spirit people, who were taken from us, the survivors of violence, and families and community members whose lives have been forever changed. On October 4th, communities across Canada will be honoring MMIW at the sister is spirits vigil at 2PM virtually by going live from their Facebook page, Native woman’s association of Canada. Other ways you can show support:... -Light a candle and place on a windowsill on October 4th. -Adding a Facebook frame for Sisters in spirit to your profile picture.

Today is #orangeshirtday As we move forward on the path of reconciliation, we want to acknowledge those children who were forcibly put into residential schools. Some children survived the abuse, others did not. Today we honor those spirits and survivors. May we never forget the history and impact of these schools and how they still impact First Nation people today.
