Around this time last year we were getting ready for one of our most exciting projects yet, to design and build water treatment, fertilization and pumping systems for a new Intravision Group commercial scale indoor hydroponics farm in the Niagara Region. Windmills for sale! We salvaged two Koenders brand aeration windmills from a pond excavation and they need a new home! Both are partially disassembled and ready to be picked up. Delivery and installation also available across Southern Ontario. Used but in great working condition, these are galvanized steel, single diaphragm windmills that provide aeration to ponds up to 2 acres in size. One unit is 16ft tall, one is 20ft tall.... Had a fun time installing some colourful shade sails at the @shelldalefg community centre this summer. The sails will provide relief from the summer sun for many years, and will create more sheltered outdoor seating areas for staff, visitors, and participants of their youth camp programming. We ordered custom cut sails from @shadesailscanada that were made-to-fit our post locations and turned out perfect. Had a great time working with @zinco_canada again on another green roof installation in Paris, ON. Zinco's products make it easy - we were able to get this done in a day and planted with a nice mix of sedum varieties and some taller perennial flowers. Save this mighty Oak! The City of Toronto has called for donations to preserve this 250 year old Oak tree on a private property in Toronto. The City will purchase the property and establish a public park to protect the tree if the contribution goal of $430,000 is met by December 12 2020. This massive Red Oak is recognized as a heritage tree under Forest Ontario's Heritage Tree Program, and towers over the city at 80 feet tall, with branches that span 24 meters, and a trunk ci...rcumference of over 5 meters. So far the donation drive has reached $130,000 or 30% of the goal. If the goal isn't reached in time, the donated funds will be allocated to Toronto Urban Forestry's Community Planting & Stewardship Grant and the Greening Partnership Grant programs, which support tree planting across the city. Follow-up post to a beautiful yard in Oakville where we installed some raised beds earlier this year. We planted a nice mix of herbs & veggies from @troutlilyorganicseedlings and created a pollinator garden with perennial seed mixes from Wildflower Farm in Coldwater Ontario. With the support of @PollinationGuelph we are converting the berm at our site near Guelph into a pollinator habitat - looks like the bees already love it. We seeded the area with a wildflower mix, and plan to further increase the biodiversity with native plants from @originnativeplants. It will be drip irrigated via rainwater harvested from our storage shed. #pollinatorgarden #garden #bees #nativeplants
