As the pandemic has affected recycling services across the Yukon I will have to postpone recycling pick up for this week and reassess for the next one. If you could please stockpile your recycling for this period and I will pick up the larger amount in the near future. Anyone who has prepaid I will carry the service into next year to compensate. This year our business is going to work harder to make recycling more effective and provide more direction to our customers. Please consider separating waste into three streams : plastic film , paper and other. Film is abundant but has zero value and takes up a lot of time in sorting, paper gets contaminated when wet and the rest generally has some value and is worth taking the time to sort. Also small items , micro plastics or small wrappers consider bagging them together o...r disposing directly in the trash. If left loose the time it takes to sort them out eliminates any potential value. Our diversion rate is increasing 100% a year so we have to work together to help the depot staff manage our waste effectively and efficiently. Recycling services costs for 2020: Paid in full : $250 for 24 pickups. Month to month : $12 per pick up totals $288. Businesses, Organizations or multi residential : $15 per pick up Compost : $5 per pick up $110 for the year Recycling and compost : $330 for 24 pickups I will supply bags if needed. Start The New Year off Right!! Sign yourself up for a curb side collection of Recycling and Compost. Collection Day is every other Wednesday starting January 2nd. Cost is 10/pick-up of recycling and 5/pick-up of compost so 15/pick-up for both. 26 pick-ups in the year... Pay the whole year in advance and save!!! New year special is $225.00 for Recycling and $100 for compost
