Borrow some sunshine at FVRL! Our newest playground lending item is here: Sunshine Lamps. Enter our contest below and win one of your own! In this dreary Pac...ific Northwest winter, we want to bring some light to the valley. Many people use light therapy to combat the winter blues or cheer up on cloudy days. Sunshine lamps replace lost sunlight exposure, balancing hormones and resetting the body’s internal clock in healthy adults. Learn more about Sunshine Lamps at www.fvrl.ca or visit your local library. Enter our contest and win a Sunshine Lamp of your own: https://fvrlborrowsunshine.lndg.page/mp3kwv #BorrowSunshine #FVRL #ReadLearnPlay #MindBodyHealth #WinterBlues #SunshineLamps #LetTheLightIn #Sun #Sunshine #KeepTogether #StayApart #SelfCare #LightTherapy #Wellness

We’re sad to say that based on today’s announcement adult leagues remain on hold. The government is working on posting new guidelines for adult team sports. It’...s not clear as to when these guidelines will be posted, but once they are, we will be working hard to make any changes necessary to get our leagues up and running once again. We’re confident in the safety of our centre, and the sport of bowling, based on all the changes that we’ve made so far and we hope to get rolling () once again, soon!

When you’re decorating your house this year, remember to keep all your decorations at least 1 meter (3 feet) away from any heat source that could ignite them on... fire. These heat sources could be heat registers on the floor, electric baseboard heaters, portable space heaters or even candles. Stay safe! http://ow.ly/a3fj50COpN5

Do you have young children who are out of control? Do they misbehave at home or in public? Are you struggling with what to do? I am currently taking my SleepT...alk training, this is a process which allows parents to improve their children’s behaviours, attitudes and habits. SleepTalk is a process -not a therapy-helping parents inspire posotve change in their children. SleepTalk is a process to be incorporated into the bedtime routine for families with children. It’s about empowering and teaching parents to work with their children while they sleep; it takes about 2 minutes per night. The children awaken with a more positive mind set. The Process is a nightly bedtime routine commitment which is so worthwhile. For parents the 3 MOST important aspects to create change with the SleepTalk process are: Commitment: Offer SleepTalk each night for a minimum of 3 months. Consistency: Ensure you present the process each and every evening to all siblings. Compliance: Repeat the suggestions without attempting change or addition. I am currently looking for 4 families who would be willing to be my case studies. This is a great opportunity to learn this technique Pro-Bono. This Program is especially helpful for those children with Behavioural & Development disorders i.e. Speech, Sleeping, Toileting or Eating (it is ideal for children on the spectrum ODD ADHD OCD) Please email me at [email protected] for more information on how you can participate.
