This is a fantastic loot bag idea for birthdays. In our case, it’s a great way to celebrate with classmates when there is no party planned. #madelocal in #fortsaskatchewan only a few km from #t8n. ... Don’t give a bunch of plastic toys that lose their novelty after 3.4 seconds. Also, the price was on point. And the container is reusable!! @thecottoncandyshoppecanada #sustainableliving #lootbags #birthdaygirl #birthdaypartyideasforkids #shoplocalt8n

There is nothing better, as a mother, than seeing your children smile from ear to ear and knowing how special you made them feel. One thing I like to do in my house is make my children feel special, loved, important and beautiful. When one of them has a special day, we make sure to go all out decorating the house and making it all about them. ... When they get out of a warm bath I make sure to have a warm blanket from the dryer. When they’re going on special occasions or to birthday parties, I’ll be sure to do their hair in a special way that makes them feel so pretty. Everybody loves to feel special. Everybody loves to know that somebody went the extra mile for them. Our kids are no exception and giving them a reason to have self-love will go miles in their life. What is one thing you like to do for your children that makes them feel special? #Parenting #lovingyourchildren #Motherhood #Mommies #BabyGirl #MomOfGirls #GentleParenting #MakingChildrenFeelSpecial #Parenthood #Mothering #SpecialOccasions #Childhood #ItIsTheSimpleThings #BirthdayCelebration #DecoratingForBirthday #SomebodyIsTurning7 #BirthdayWeek #birthdaygirlfeelsspecial #DoSomethingToMakeYourChildFeelSpecial

Habits A habit is something that you don’t even think about. It started possibly a long time ago or maybe you have a new habit but it is so ingrained in your brain that you don’t have to think about it anymore. A lot of people think habits are hard to change. Of course if you think it is hard it will be hard but it does require discipline.... If you would like to shed an old habit or create a new one, start with something simple like making your bed every day. Use the momentum of that success to build on bigger habits by believing you can do it. Be patient with yourself. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Now your habit voice will try to deter you. It will convince you to leave your bed messy just one day. That nothing bad will happen but...that resets your habit brain. So tell that habit voice to shut up. Be disciplined every time your habit brain tries to sabotage your success and do that habit anyway. It will not take long for the habit voice to get very quiet if not completely quiet. How bad do you want to implement this new habit? If it’s getting out of bed a little bit earlier. Just do it before the habit voice even has time to start. Your habit voice will be very loud in the beginning but very audibly tell your habit voice to be quiet. Keep a tracking sheet of a habit or use an app. But don’t let the habit boys win. Be stronger than your habit voice and your new habit will soon be ingrained in your neural pathways. As of November 1st I’m getting up an hour earlier and also meditating three times a day for 15 minutes each time. I use an app called Momentum plus a paper tracking sheet (I love the satisfaction of putting a physical on a piece of paper). What habit do you want to shed? What habit would you like to pick up?

Are you in the habit of tidying up every day, and putting everything in its place? This powerful habit does take some commitment but it will do wonders in your life and in your home. Imagine a home of peace. ... Imagine a home of stability. Imagine a home of tranquility. Don’t argue why it cannot happen for you, just hold it in your imagination and feel the peace and tranquillity a few moments everyday. What is it costing you to live with clutter, mess and untidiness? Probably more than you think. Now what is most important? Choosing that life or choosing one that FEELS a million times better. And yes, I said choose because every path is a choice. You may not see it that way now but explore it within you. Choose your path of what kind of home you desire and do the micro steps required to acquire that environment.

Another day, another project. Using vertical space in this garage to get everything off the floor by building strong and sturdy shelves. It was also a great day to go through all her garage items and purge unused items (and there was a fair bit - garages are great for that). ... Do you have stuff in your garage you know you’re not using? Our brains cannot think two thoughts at once as well it does not constantly stay in one thought. If you are on a mental loop, you can choose a new thought. You are the thinker of your thoughts and therefore you can choose a new thought. When your loop comes back, change the thought again. You are not a victim to thoughts. Be disciplined and catch yourself and then do it again. Do it until...... This is not a mental health post, it’s encouraging you to work through the discomfort I’ve repeated thought that is not serving you until you take the action that does serve you. For example, justifying all the reasons why you’re not gonna get up and spend 15 minutes organizing your house, could easily be overcome by a different thought pattern. #jimfortinquotes #youarethethinkerofyourthoughts #youarenotavictimtolife #changeyourthoughtschangeyourlife #stopthehamsterwheel #doituntil #stopthethoughtloops @iamjimfortin
