Tomorrow is Local Yarn Store Day and to celebrate, we are offering 15% of all instore merchandise, excluding a few locally made consignment items. We also have a free pattern with purchase for this lovely Esme shawl, courtesy of Cascade Yarns. The Esme Poncho is a 2 skein project knitted in Eco+ Merino Wool. Mock cables and eyelets offer texture and interest for the seamed rectangular poncho. Either Ecological Wool or Eco+ Wool can also be used instead of the softer Eco+ Merino Wool.

Wow! Shes done it again. I own every Cat Bordhi book and e-book and each time I read them, I learn something new and inspiring. I just added this new (and likely last one) to my collection. Now to find the perfect yarn... This e-book available on Ravelry, and is available through the in store purchase program as well.

" Grandma how do you deal with pain?" " With your hands, dear. When you do it with your mind, the pain hardens even more." With your hands, grandma?"... " Yes, yes. Our hands are the antennas of our soul. When you move them by sewing, cooking, painting, touching the earth or sinking it into the earth, they send signals of caring to the deepest part of you and your soul calms down. This way she doesn't have to send pain anymore to show it. " Are hands really that important?" " Yes my girl. Thinking of babies: they get to know the world thanks to their touches. When you look at the hands of older people, they tell more about their lives than any other part of the body. Everything that is made by hand, so is said, is made with the heart because it really is like this: hands and heart are connected. Masseuses know this: When they touch another person's body with their hands, they create a deep connection. Thinking of lovers: When their hands touch, they love each other in the most sublime way." " My hands grandma... how long haven't I used them like that!" " Move them my girl, start creating with them and everything in you will move. The pain will not pass away. But it will be the best masterpiece. And it won't hurt anymore. Because you managed to embroider your essence." ~ Elena Barnabe

Had some quality time to peruse the new Saltwater Gifts book this afternoon and I absolutely love it. So many great gift ideas and patterns. Ive been married to a Newfie for 39 years, and even I learned a few anecdotes and stories about NL. Weve been talking about taking a trip back to the Rock, and this book may have sealed the deal. We also have restocked the first and second books in the series, Saltwater Mittens and Saltwater Classics. Open Saturday, 10-2.
