Whidden Park 28.11.2020

What a beautiful weekend to end the summer with! In a normal year, we would still have a couple more months of camping left but we have decided this year due to COVID-19. Please also be aware , as we will not have staff to supervise them.... Thank you to all of our campers who stayed with us this summer. It was a very different year and we appreciate your patience and cooperation in following the COVID regulations - we hope to be able to give you a more normal camping experience in 2021! Thank you as well to our awesome staff - this year was more challenging than usual and we really appreciate how hard you worked to keep our guests happy and safe!

Our and are now open!

COVID-19 Update: Premier McNeil and Dr. Strang announced today that private campgrounds may now use 100% of their sites and that swimming pools may open. Our industry is currently putting together guidelines for how to operate the pools safely and figuring out what restrictions may need to be in place, such as capacity and other considerations. That said, it looks like we should have the information we need in the next day or so. This is great news and we are happy that our ...pools will finally be opening! Please be aware that Dr. Strang has clarified that the concentration of chlorine in pool water is not enough to kill the COVID-19 virus. For this reason, physical distancing will still be as important in the pool as it is on land. Also, our washrooms are still closed and we still can't permit anyone who is not a registered camper into the campground. Hopefully these restrictions will ease soon. Today's news was very exciting and a big step towards a more normal camping experience for all! However, it is important that we all continue to put safety first, especially as the Atlantic Bubble is due to open next weekend.

COVID-19 Update: Following yesterday's announcement from Premier McNeil, our playgrounds are now open. Please ensure your children wash their hands before and after playing. Campers may also gather in groups of up to 10 without physical distancing. Please try to be consistent as to who is in your group and continue to use good hygiene at all times which includes using a tissue or your sleeve to cover a cough or sneeze, washing your hands regularly, and avoiding touching your... face. We are still waiting for updates on the restrictions around pools, washrooms, visitors, and spacing between overnight sites. The Province is currently in talks with our industry about the next stage of opening so we hope to hear more soon. Lastly, given the recent fire bans in the province, we wish to make it known that private campgrounds like ours have typically been exempt from such bans in the past. We have recently confirmed this is still the case for us this year. If, at any point, we decide or are directed not to allow fires, we will inform campers. Otherwise, guests can assume campfires are permitted.
