I've been nursing a neck spasm for a few days now. Upon waking this morning I was feeling much improved and was eager to jump out of bed and hit the ground running. My husband was already on the treadmill and I was eager to join him. Plus My to-do-list is LONG. Add that to a very busy work week ahead and well thank goodness my neck was better! But alas before I could slip my foot out from the covers I heard a wee voice in my noggin say 'practice what you preach'. Ugh... did ...I mention that sometimes hearing MY OWN voice is so annoying ..Ha. But this morning, that voice, well she was right. I listened and heeded her words. I snuggled back under the covers, got my Reiki hands flowing and enjoyed an extra 10minutes of calm + quiet while allowing the Reiki energy to balance each of MY chakras. Next was shower time, Reiki still flowing, I allowed the water to rinse away my neck woes. While toweling off I was reminded that I still had my @fortellisalonandspa Home Facial Kit to use. It had been sitting there for a week now staring at me. No better time than now, that dang voice! With my Reiki hands still flowing I followed each step (1 for each main chakra!) Then came the mask "leave on for 20 MINUTES". Perfect time to do my emails. Nope, that darn voice crept in again. Instead I sat quietly in the living room, enjoying the Christmas tree while Christmas carols played in the background. Yup. "Who does THIS on a Monday morning" I thought. I did, and it felt MARVELOUS. I'm always preaching to my students about the importance of filling 'our own' cups first. Self-love, self-care + self-healing are necessary... after all how can we help others if we haven't taken care of ourselves first! Now I'm ready to start my busy week feeling grounded, calm + all shiny like a sparkling gemstone. (um whose voice said that?!) During the season of giving my hope is that YOU remember to GIVE to YOURSELF just as much, and if not more, than you do to others. That is how we keep OUR own lights shining bright. I read a headline this week about suicide numbers being at an ‘all-time high’. In recent weeks I’ve personally learned of 3 suicides, all Un-related, all male, all young, all under the age of 40... just getting their groove on in this world. My heart breaks.I was ‘unexpectedly’ called upon today to help one of these lovely young souls find his way to the light, to cross-over to ‘the other side’.It’s always a privilege to assist in this process. My spiritual self knows th...is role and finds great honour in it. Though my human-self can’t help but discern the natural emotions of such events... for the deceased, the loved ones still here, and that list goes on. I know this pain.As I sat on the porch this afternoon, with white sage a-burn, I asked Spirit for a sign. I needed some HOPE. Hope that this young lad’s soul has and will find his way. Hope that his loved ones still living are being tended to and supported.It had been 6 FULL days since we had a visit from our resident Cardinals here at #WhisperLaneWellness. No song, no feeding. Within moments of my request for Hope (as in maybe 5 minutes, if that!) ... GUESS who showed up?! That vibrant splash of red majesty, song and all, landed and sat directly in front of me, on a tree branch. A messenger of spirit and hope. Please keep the Hope. Please continue to Trust. Please share your shoulder (your ear, your heart) with those in need. I will continue to do my part. Let’s support one another together.PS... I am happy to report this young lad found his way over, to the other-side.I look forward to sharing messages to his loved ones, if and when his soul is ready to do so. #weloveenergy #whisperlanewellness #wehope #wetrust #welove I continue to Hope + Trust xo
