This is an educational letter ...only....it does not mean you will owe back your CERB payments. If you have collected and not filed your 2019 tax return you need to do so ASAP. If you did not meet the requirements of $5000.00 employment income in 2019 or from Jan-Mar 2020 you will be sent a bill for the amounts collected. We are working hard to get all the facts regarding the new employment insurance regarding this Covid-19 pandemic. CRA has not given all of the details as of yet, we will up date this as we get the info. What we do know is that starting April 6th you will be able to apply at Servicecanada.ca. If you are self employed it sounds like they will be asking for information from your 2019 tax return, if you are an employee that has been laid off, home for kids, or on quarantine you... will need your ROE. Employers are working on these forms, but you need to be patient as the ROE on line site keeps crashing due to the high volume. There is also and Alberta one time credit of $1146.00 that most people will get regardless of self employed or employee. There is an application on alberta.ca.
