My name is Alan Cook and I am the President of the White Lake Hall Society.I moved to White Lake three years ago,at that time I was the President of the Notch Hill hall. The executive consists of myself and three very community minded ladies who, like myself, are making every effort to improve the hall for all residents of this Great Community. I have seen a few comments with regard to the changes we have made to the functions that will be happening at the hall with regard to al...cohol use in the hall. The liquor laws of this Province are very clear with regard to Community Halls. When an event such as a dance that tickets are sold for, liquor cannot be brought into the hall.Any alcohol that is in the hall must be bought from a government outlet and must have a permit. The holder of that permit is responsible for the behavior and safety of those attending. This is the law and we,the executive, will abide by the law.Small gatherings of private, member only clubs,do not require a permit to have liquor present. The information is available online on the Government site. I apologise for being long winded but the change is in the best interest of the Hall.Sadly there are too few people that support the hall in a meaningful way,but have the time to sit at their keyboard and criticize. The hall exterior is in a sad state which will be rectified through this spring and summer. Should it be required,I am more than willing to have a meeting at the hall to allow concerned residents to air their views. Any help to assist us in the hall exterior spring(if it ever gets here) clean- up would be greatly appreciated. See more

I would like to give a big thanks to Paul Robinson and John Warrington for cleaning the parking lot of snow. I just went down to the hall and it looks amazing. Your service to our little community is appreciated 100%. What would we if we didn't have volunteers like you both helping out.

Community working together! A big thank you to Paul Robinson and John Warrington for getting the upper level of the hall cleared. Paul spent yesterday making an opening up to the top and John spent the second day with Paul getting the snow out of the way for parking. A thank you goes out to all those people in the community that help out with the snow removal over the winter. The executive committee is aware of the issues around the condition of the parking lot and the funding required to resolve those issues and are working on a solution.

A new AED has been installed at the hall. It is located at the top of the stairway connecting the top and ground floor making it accessible to both floors. A big thank you goes out to Paul Robinson for doing the research and installation to make this possible.
