In June, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health made an amendment to the emergency directive and Registered Dental Hygienists were sent back to work. We now take order from our professional body first, the CDHO, and may continue to practice during the province wide four week lockdown. With this autonomy comes professional responsibly and I have decided that even though I am allowed to stay open during the lockdown i will be closing temporarily for my safety and yours. I wi...ll be postponing all in person whitening sessions until after January 23rd. If you have an appointment booked during this time I will contact you to reschedule. If you have an appointment after January 23rd your appointment will remain as scheduled. If you do not feel comfortable and would like to reschedule please contact me to reserve a new time at a later date or to pick up a pandemic safe take home whitening kit. What am I doing!? I am testing out the new Whitening Fairy Home LED Whitening Kit! I will hopefully have these kits available to all of you in a few weeks. I have completed my testing and am very happy with this product. This take home kit is complete with a cool-temp LED light (plus charger) and three pens containing 35% carbamide peroxide gel (this will last you a looooong time). Carbamide peroxide is great for sensitive teeth and getting results!... I am very upfront about how sensitive my teeth get after whitening, but the results are always worth it! With this new gel formula I am getting ZERO SENSITIVITY! I am in shock as I didnt believe this was possible. And Im getting RESULTS! Have your coffee and white teeth too? Yes, you can! I am often asked, how long will whitening results last? Its a great question and one that doesnt have a specific answer. Teeth whitening will permanently whiten your teeth, but your lifestyle can cause them to stain again. ... What do I mean? Smoking, drinking coffee/red wine/dark soda, eating foods with curry/tomato sauce/soy sauce can all cause your teeth to stain. Avoiding those things can keep your teeth their whitest. If you are like most and cant stay away from everything on that list then using a whitening pen for touch ups or coming back for a thirty minute touch up can help. A few other tricks to try: add cream to your coffee, drink through a straw, drink water after eating anything that would stain, use a whitening toothpaste (it wont whiten, but can help prevent staining).
