White Rock File 2020-6726 White Rock RCMP conducted a curfew check in the 15600 block of Thrift Avenue, White Rock, BC, when one officer noticed a Rolls Royce Phantom stored in the garage of the residence they were attending. Based on the rarity of this vehicle, that is valued at approximately $350,000, the officer’s follow-up investigation was able to determine that it was likely stolen, without the benefit of seeing a licence plate or a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).... A search warrant was obtained and on December 23rd, 2020 the White Rock RCMP with the assistance of the Surrey RCMP Property Crime Target Team executed the search warrant. The Phantom was confirmed stolen from a break and enter to a residence in West Vancouver from February 2020. Also seized at the residence was over 800 rounds of ammunition, of various calibers. White Rock RCMP media Relations Officer, Constable Sears advises, "As is often the case with property crimes, offenders move the stolen goods into other jurisdictions in hopes of avoiding detection. Offenders should know that police agencies, regardless of the uniform or jurisdiction, work together to solve these crimes, as was demonstrated in this investigation. Thank you to the Surrey RCMP, West Vancouver Police, and ICBC Special Investigations Unit for their assistance. At this point, no charges have been recommended, however the investigation is continuing.

Sometimes we have drivers ask where is the school zone? Or this is a school zone?!? So here are pictures of where you need to be 30km/h or less when you pass these signs all the way through to the end of the zone. They are in effect on school days which start this Thursday! Return to school 2020 White Rock RCMP are reminding drivers that Thursday September 10th marks the beginning of the school year in White Rock. With the extended break from active school zones due to COVID- 19, police are asking motorists to be extra vigilant. School zone speed limits are 30km/h are in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on school days. RCMP officers will be enforcing the two school zones in White Rock- Peace Arch Elementary in the 15800 block of Roper Avenue, an...d White Rock Elementary in the 1200 block of Fir Street. Speeding in a school zone is a minimum fine of $196.00 and three (3) points. Officers on patrol found three students playing out side of Peace Arch Elementary- Landon, Elijah and Savannah, and asked them What safety tips would they like adults to remember to make the return to school better for everyone? They had this to say: Landon: No touching each other, keep your hands to yourself and don’t play tag. Elijah: wear a mask and stay socially distanced- 6 feet apart Savannah: Drive slow by the school, obey the school zone signs. White Rock RCMP have these reminders for drivers: Observe speed zones as children crossing the road on their way to and from school can easily get distracted and step into harm’s way. Due to the steps taken to ensure compliance with Covid-19 social distancing, recesses and lunches may take place at different times for smaller groups throughout the day and children may be out at unexpected times. Regardless of the time of day, police are encouraging drivers to slow down and pay particular attention in and near school zones.
This afternoon's enforcement is on the west side....Marine & Magdalen! Drive at or below the posted speed limit please! Have a wonderful day and enjoy our beautiful city by the sea!
