Staying safe with our @buffcanada filter masks & homemade lunches with all the goodies from @spudalberta we had delivered to our doorstep... doing what we can to make it through this winter that’s gonna be like no other. It’s a lot of work to get a whole family geared up for safe outdoor adventures but I promise it’s worth it. HOW ARE YOU? :: Everyone is going through this transition, we’re all trying different ways to stay connected in our families, neighbourhoods, & the global community. It is important to take care of our mental health. The ability to recognize psychological issues in ourselves & others is going to be critical this winter. It’s customary to ask people how are you doing & this has become just a part of our dialogue we often don’t wait for a response or are crafting our next c...omment in our mind while the other persons responds. I’d encourage you to make eye contact, & TRULY ask those around you (zoom or physically distanced) how they are doing. Make eye contact, slow down, just be with them. Hear them (which you can do at any distance!). Not everyone is comfortable or able to access the help of a trained mental health professional. Likewise many (I find especially moms) are taking care of others & don’t attend to or feel their experiences are worthy of reaching out for help. Right this moment make a list of 5 people who will be YOUR PEOPLE this winter. And for each or those people reach out to them today to ask hey, how ARE you?.
