Friday was a special day at the WFN Community Garden as we turned over the keys to the garden shed and celebrated the successful completion of the Fortis ReNew Program with the students! Although the day was unseasonably cold and snowy it didn’t dampen the spirits of all the people who attended the small celebration. All of the students received their completion certificate as well as their other certificates earned during the 5 week program. I would personally like to thank ...WIBCO Construction superintendent Bill Louie for his tireless efforts during the onsite training portion of the program and the people at Fortis, WFN and OTDC who initiated this great program. I would also like to thank all of the sponsors who provided us with materials and on site training for the participants. WIBCO General Manager Paul Courtoreille had the great honour of turning the keys over to the Community Garden Coordinator and presenting the two Peter Olsen Memorial Awards to Selina Joe and Jordan Lindley. The memories and friendships made during the program will never be forgotten. The Garden Shed itself will be a legacy that all the people involved will be able take pride in knowing that they a part of. On behalf of WIBCO Construction we wish the graduates from the program much success and all the best in their future endeavours!

Last day working on the WFN Garden Shed project with the Fortis ReNew participants! Today we installed the plywood interior wall cladding, window jambs/ casing, painting and the exterior deck lattice. We ended the day with a blower door test demonstration by Bahar and Kyle from ROV Enginnering. As we anticipated, the building was definite built air tight!... The project is now completed and ready to be handed over to the folks at the WFN Community Garden for their use. This successful completion of this project would not of been possible without the involvement of all of our sponsors, trade partners, site superintendent Bill Louie and most importantly the 2020 Fortis Renew students! Another WIBCO Construction project completed on time and on budget!

WIBCO Construction is nearing the completion of an exterior deck renovation for a local WFN member. Looking forward to seeing the glass railing installed!

Day 7 on site with the ReNew participants at the WFN Community Garden Shed Project. Today the students installed the final trim work around the exposed exterior beams, painted plywood panels for the interior wall cladding and had a demonstration from Surroundz Eavestroughing while they installed gutters and downspouts. A special thanks to Jason from Surroundz Eavestroughing and his crew (Jamey, Ray and Jeff). ... The garden shed is almost ready for its new Owners!

Day 5 and 6 in the books with the Fortis ReNew participants on the WFN Garden Shed project. The last two days the students have been actively involved in the installation of the exterior finishes, which included building wrap, metal soffit, metal fascia and the vinyl horizontal siding. The team worked efficiently and affectively with the siding contractors and were able to complete the installation within the time allotted for the work.... A special thanks to Jeff (Aka Jones) Armor and Dustin Desbian for providing the students with a great learning experience over the two days. We also had the fine folks at Solar Centre install a solar tube on the roof of the garden shed to bring in natural light and minimize the need for electric powered lighting. The building is looking fantastic and the students are excited to see this project through to completion. Great work everyone involved!
