Cancom Security has been working closely with our clients, staff and partners in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have been taking advice from public health officials and making decisions that balance our need to provide community safety with maintaining the health and safety of our members. As of April 1, 2020, no Cancom Security staff have tested positive for Covid-19. At every location, we take action to ensure enhanced cleaning measures as recommended by public healt...h officials, such as additional surface cleaning in frequently accessed areas, are undertaken as soon as possible. Those who work in close proximity to members who may test positive are advised to self-monitor. Protecting our members is of paramount importance. Cancom Security continues to provide its members with the most up-to-date information from public health officials with respect to self-screening, social distancing, frequent hand-washing with soap, and practicing self-isolation. Currently there are no changes to our frontline operations. The impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on our communities is felt on many levels impacting our elderly and youth. There is no need for panic, but this is a time to exercise best practices and isolation to help our medical professionals contain and fight this health risk. During this difficult time, I wanted to share how Cancom Security is working with medical advice and best practices in order to serve you while keeping our employees’ health and safety a top priority: We are ensuring that our teams are available to support and meet the needs of our customers by implementing local and regional contingency plans across the country. Our offices, branches and facilities remain open and operate business as usual with increased sanitation practices and restricted visitor policies except where prohibited by law. We restricted all unnecessary travel that isn’t business or customer-critical to minimize risk to our employees in the course of their daily work and in support for public health efforts to contain the virus. Our management Team monitors the situation 24/7 to ensure we have a real-time assessment of developing events and mitigates any potential impact. We have encouraged our office-based employees to work from home to minimize risk of exposure and disruption. While this is a change for many employees, I’m encouraged by examples I’ve seen of incredible virtual collaboration and productivity for customers amongst our distributed colleagues. While COVID-19 is an unprecedented situation, I am inspired and incredibly proud of our employees who continue to serve our customers and communities. On behalf of our employees, we are more committed than ever to supporting you during this difficult time. We will continue to monitor the situation and are prepared to respond promptly as it changes. We wish for your continued health and safety and appreciate the ability to serve you. Sincerely, Ronald Wells Ceo Cancom Security Inc. See more

On March 22, 2020 At 1826 hrs Cancom Security Officer Roland Crowell was dispatched to a panic alarm in Saugeen First Nation. The panic was initiated by a young girl who resided at the address for response. Officer Crowell arrived on site within minutes and met with the young girl who was afraid. Officer Crowell could her screaming from the home. Officer Crowell entered the home and found a young lady laying down unresponsive with another female trying to wake her with... no success. Officer Crowell began to check for Vitals as per First Aid Training and was unable to find a pulse and the victim was not breathing. Subsequently R.Crowell began CPR, while S/G Mike Wilson Contacted OPP Dispatch. Officer R.CROWELL then administered 3 shots of Narcan Nasal Spray 3 minutes apart from each other and continued CPR. The victim remained unresponsive, at which time security administered AED. The young female then began to breathe more steadily as Security continued CPR. Several minutes after the young female woke up and was responding to security but was fading in and out. Ambulance arrived on scene to take over. OPP arrived on scene. The young female was taken to hospital for further examination and supervision. As a result of Officers Crowell quick response and actions a life was saved today and we are proud to have Ronald Crowell serve with Cancom Security. A job well done Roland Crowell.
