Canada is still closed to foreign tourists, unfortunately, but made it up the mountain with Katya last three weekends, including one overnighter with friends. And saw eight bears!

https://www.endeavourfund.co.uk//endeavour-fund-awards-20/ Went to the Endeavour Fund awards in London last night. They will be sponsoring Wild Bear Exped, our project to help wounded and sick soldiers, which will run at the lodge in the summer. Pouring with rain and lots of paparazzi as it was the first and probably last public appearance of Harry & Meghan in the UK since they announced they would be giving up public duties. Some pretty inspiring stories.
Nice piece about us in the Financial Times today. Beautifully written by Mike Carter who visited us last October. https://wildbearlodge.ca/media-c/wild-bear-lodge-in-the-ft/
Winter has arrived with 3ft of snow in less than a day with plenty more on the way. Backs are sore from shovelling but our snowdog can not get enough of it. We’ll be off shortly on our annual trip to see friends and family and wanted to wish Happy Christmas and New Year to all our guests, past and future!
We should probably have done it years ago. We had only been here a few months which makes it nearly 14 years ago now when an Austrian family arrived in our yard. The father leaped out of his car, disgorged two noisy youngsters from the back seat, and asked with authority: Where are the grizzly bears?
Great autumn season has come to an end. Salmon are back after a couple of low years and lots of intimate grizzly bear viewing including Droopy Lip, the star of the show, who had three tiny cubs of the year. Many thanks to all our guests and staff! Next year already filling up and we’re looking forward to 2020 #bears #bearviewingbc #explorebc #explorecanada
Viewing bears in the wild will never be quite as predictable as watching bears from a viewing platform, but had great views of a grizzly mom and three cubs last night and then this fine bear this morning in a gorgeous, remote location #grizzlybears #bearviewingbc #hellobc #explorecanada
Recent cold weather and snow has reminded bears where the food is. Guests saw 7 different bears this morning. Thank you @steve.croft.77398 for this lovely shot. #grizzlybear #bearviewingbc #explorebc #explorecanada
The most favourite season for many of us @grizzlybearranch. Julius taking guests down our river where the fish numbers are going up and more bears are here to enjoy a fishy feast. #grizzlybear #kokaneesalmon #rafting #bearviewingbc #hellobc #explorecanada
Long alpine hikes in the summer have the best views - wildflowers galore. With thanks to Tony McKeith for the great shot #nofilter #alpine #summerhikes #wildflowers #explorebc
Young and determined grizzly bear marching down the mountain straight in front of our guests the other day. And that wasn’t the only bear they saw that day. Thank you Iwan for the video! #grizzlybear #bearviewingbc #explorebc
Summer season is now in full force and here’s our first river run of the season under masterful guiding by Julius and Graham #whitewaterrafting #riverrafting #bearviewingbc #hellobc #explorebc #explorecanada

Great last week to our spring season in the final days of June. We saw 27 bears, including nine in one day. Black bears, grizzly bears and some of the smallest cubs we had ever seen. All in some of the most stunning and least-visited terrain in north America. Here is one of the bears - a young grizzly. With thanks to Vicky and Steve for the photo.
Last day of spring season and those two still have energy to play silly games on top of the mountain. Julius, Katya and the whole team would like to thank all the lovely guests we had staying with us in the last couple of months. Now a week-long break before the summer season starts. Thank you for a brilliant shot, Emma!
