Over the years our Freeway Ramp System has been utilized and enjoyed by our guests. Subsequently the decking has been worn down from years of use and we are now looking for open support in refurbishing this unique and important feature of our campground. Yesterday, the Fort William Rotary Club presented a cheque to us for $100,000.00 that will allow us to continue restoring the Cabins that our guests make home to. These funds will directly improve the functionality, comfortability, and aesthetic of the campground. In ordiance with the Canada Summer Jobs Program, Wilderness Discovery is currently seeking individuals to facilitate various part-time positions at the camp (located in Shebandowan, ON) during the months of July & August 2019. Currently, we are looking for: Two (2) individuals to facilitate the positions of Housekeeper.... One (1) individual to facilitate the position of General Maintenance & Carpenter's Helper. Both positions are part time, paid ($14.00 / hr) and training is provided! Wilderness Discovery would like to thank Gore Mutual for their continued support of charities across Canada and for rallying together once again to be a part of the 6th annual GivingTuesday celebration. Wilderness Discovery is a one of a kind facility located 50 kilometres west of Thunder Bay that provides a fully accesible, barrier free, unique camping experience for groups, families, and individuals that may or may not have physical and/or mental conditions that limit activ...ity and movement. This facility aims to remove those limitations and create a fun and inclusive camping experience that everyone can enjoy. Wilderness Discovery officially took over the facilities on August 11th, 2017 and there have been some major transformations since then. A grand opening is set to happen in the early spring and there is still a lot of hard work ahead.
