Good morning Leek, Potato and Cheddar Tartlet. Made with local ecologically grown fingerling potatoes, Empire cheese, and our own homegrown leeks! On top of house made puff pastry makes for a delicious, flaky mess. I can’t think of another way I would like to spend this Saturday. Lots of breads and other sweet pastries to choose from. We’re open until 4pm today at 4 Oak Street in Havelock.

Happy 2021! This was the last loaf of sourdough bread I made in 2020. The first loaves of 2021 will be going in the bakery oven in the wee hours tomorrow morning. Just to remind everyone we will be back to our regular hours starting tomorrow at 8am. As an essential service that is only currently selling takeout. Not a lot changes around here during the lockdown. Do we have new things coming in 2021? You bet! Do we have new items tomorrow? Ummm, not really. But we will have our regular Saturday special items like: rosemary fougasse, roasted potato sourdough, apple turnovers and lots more. Can’t wait to see you all tomorrow.

Good day everyone. We made the danish and pain au chocolat extra fancy for this beautiful sunny Saturday. We still have an excellent selection at noon today and we’re open until 4pm!

Merry Christmas Everyone! Hope that everyone is having a special day with their families today. We were glad that we were able to be part of some people's special dinner or breakfast today. Sorry to the many who showed up to the bakery in the last couple days in search of special holiday treats or bread without much selection. We had plans of doing lots of special things. As most of you already know that all got thrown by the wayside by circumstance beyond our control. ... We just want to remind everyone that we are closed now for a much needed break until the 2nd of January. When we will be back to our regular hours and deliveries to Peterborough. We wish you all a safe, delicious and happy holidays!

Happy Solstice Everyone! It is a happy night for us all. We received three negative test results today. Even with these test results and all of us showing no symptoms, Nichola and Lea still need to quarantine for 14 days. I (Scott the baker) have also been distancing from them and staying in separate rooms. With that we have the okay from Public Health for me to work at the bakery. Of course with our usual mask wearing and distancing. Plus safe Food handling as always. ... So are we going to be open before Christmas? You are probably wondering. Yes we are! But with very limited production. We have limited staff numbers for extra safety. We also reduced our days to Wednesday and Thursday this week (swipe for the hours). No Peterborough delivery this week or next week. The store is then closed until the 2nd of January, when we will return to our regular hours. On Wednesday and Thursday we are having a Covid-Free-zer Sale! We had to bake all of bread we made for Saturday and it all went in the freezer still quite fresh. This will all be on sale for 25% off! Perfect to fill up your freezer for the coming lockdown. There are some pastries in the freezer too. Frozen products will all be first come first served. For Wednesday and Thursday we highly recommend preordering ( I will try to answer the phone tomorrow). Wednesday will still have a nice selection if you just show up. Thursday (Christmas Eve) is mostly for order pickups. There will be a very limited number of fresh items for walk ins. There are still a few pies left. These are only available by pre-order. Thank you everyone for your kind words. We're trying to do what we can to keep you safe and get you some good baked goods too! We'll all get through this. It only gets brighter for the next six months!

Closed. Yes that's right. Due to a positive case at our daughters daycare we made the hard decision to close the bakery today. We just want to be extra cautious and make sure everyone stays safe. We hope to be able to open next week. At this point we can't promise anything. We will keep everyone updated.... We are really sorry to anyone who made orders or planned on coming today. We only found out last night. We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy in this unusually challenging time of year.

Happy Hallowe'en Hot Chocolate! Yes we have lots of very chocolatey hot chocolate waiting for you! There are still some treats left and of course free candy for anyone who shows up in costume! We're open until 4pm today (Saturday) !

Like Coffee? We love coffee. More coffee just arrived from @quietlycoffee in Stirling! Including more retail bags to take home. Free cup of coffee to take home with coffee bean purchase. Detour Espiritu de Wari on brew this week. It is pretty awesome. We're getting more Detour coffee soon too. We will be open tomorrow on Hallowe'en! Free candy for kids (or anyone) who comes in wearing a costume. We're making a few special things including hot chocolate and it will be our last day for pumpkin spice bread.

Our display case is well stocked today! We added Black River Juices and coconut water to our drink selection. There is still a nice selection of pastries today. We also have boxes of tea and bottles of organic olive oil for sale. Thanks for everyone's help and understanding over these last couple of weeks. We're still getting things figured out. Sorry to anyone who has showed up to a very limited selection sometimes or late deliveries to Peterborough. ... We'll get it together soon and have more new things in store.
