Happy Winter Solstice!

Even though forest school is over until the new year, it doesn’t mean you have to stay home:) Make sure to get outside and enjoy this beautiful weather with your families!

Wednesday was a great day in the forest! In the morning we followed up our owl sighting with some books, an actual owl and an owl pellet! We also made lots of snowballs! In the afternoon we headed to the creek, played music on the steel tongue drum, used ropes many different, fun ways and looked at spirit animal message cards!

The Wednesday gang headed to an old favorite group of climbing trees. Lots of balance practice and gross motor skills. Some set up a pulley system to receive mail from each other.

We were so lucky today to be graced with the presence of not only 1 but 2 Great Horned Owls!!! They came flying so close to us and perched above our heads in th...e trees. The group followed the owls around for quite some time excited to see owls so close! Then we experienced the sound and sights of a murder of crows flying after the owls and chasing them through the air! Very exciting experiences for our group today! We also found some special rocks and did some rock wrapping to decorate them, take home, and give to someone special. See more

Tuesday's tots were at the bottom of the ravine while Thursday's were at the top! Took advantage of the beautiful weather for some water play and pupper shows!

The Wednesday gang went to an old favorite spot with it's very own mud hole, lots of trees for making swings and we took advantage of the beautiful weather to hang out and do some carving.
