Wild turkeys that become conditioned to human foods, and habituated to people, are likely to cause damage ...to property (vehicles, houses, trees, and yards). Wild turkeys may attempt to dominate people. This is the natural pecking order in how the turkey’s function with their groups. If the turkeys are not scared off property and food is provided, they may attempt to dominate and become aggressive to humans. Possession, propagation, importation, sale, purchase, or release of game-farm wild turkeys in British Columbia is unlawful. Prevent domestic turkeys from mingling and breeding with wild birds. Free-ranging hybrids between wild turkeys and domestic birds often result in birds becoming a nuisance.
