This old hag is one of my absolute favourite deities, Cailleach. She is getting a bit of a rework this week, I just completed, and she will be added to my new etsy art page this week. The gods and goddesses, totem animals, new coming tarot work, will all go under a new business entity, as Erin Foggoa Creative becomes firmly about making large scale animal art that creates massive change. Cailleach, so the tales go, could leap across mountains and ride the wave of storms. This... badass weathered and ageless immortal was a shapeshifter that could transfer into a great bird, so I covered a portion of her face with a raven. Cailleach is one of my winter gods and goddesses collection, but she is a truly unique one all of her own. Ullr, Skadi, and the others are bringers of winter, whereas Cailleach is neither good nor evil (like my favourite, the fates) she is an unrelenting controller; she decides all of winter, she controls its harshness, she decides if it is a calm and gentle time or a wildly destructive force, she decides when it will end and she will release her hold and allow for spring.
