Hot off the easel my painting(s) The grass is always greener. Diptych, both 20 x 10 acrylics, for overall width of 41. I would love to see this hung on a corner, going from one space to the next. This piece is for sale, IM me.

Reflections of tranquility 20 x 10 acrylics. I took photo reference for this painting last late summer just east of Sauble Beach ON Canada from the bridge. Was late, it was construction season, I had promised myself no stopping to take pictures, well unless there is something spectacular. And then I seen the swans, lol.

So this painting needs explanation. I am designing a mural for a Mural event in Olney Illinois. When we do a mural it is customary the project leader/s donate the study used for the mural to the municipal auction to use for fundraising for the mural projects. So this, my painting, depicts the concept of the mural. My subject is local agriculture. Mural title given, Land of Riches. At the bottom on the brown area below the oil field it will say the following: Although today m...ost fields are planted in seed or used for pasture, the oil industry is alive and well in our Illinois area, generating millions of dollars per year for the local economy. The mischievous children are representing our future farmers. As in the past, when oil was discovered in this area, our new generations will find new and innovative ways to reap from this our Land of Riches. The wall given is painted grey brick, with a blocked in area that used to be a drive door. The zipper will open going around the blocked in area. Size- 26 ft x 16 ft. Today we send in the ideas, I hope they go for my concept. The bottom photo is my rough concept for the project. I am hoping the second zipper head will be 3D to make the mural more interactive for selfies , we shall see if time permits. As we have only 3 days to paint. Our murals were going to be painted at the end of June, but I believe the dates are changing.

Many thanks to Susan Hutchinson for sharing her life with me first. And inspiring the Saugeen Forks Triptych from her special times spent there over the years, growing up and then with her children. Susan has kept the 3 together by giving them to her kids. SOLD SOLD SOLD

This came up in memories today. This was my second painting I believe, might have been my third, but I digress. I find it incredible how things have changed for me work wise in the last years. Being received by the Society of Canadian Artists was one of my great accomplishments, the other being accepted into the Federation of Canadian Artists. Two accomplishments I had set a five year goal for. This year I have set my sights on two SCA shows and three FCA shows. Lets see how I make out . Love you all for all your continued support. Could not be here if it wasnt for everyone boosting my spirits and pushing me forward. So grateful to all of you. Thank you.

I just want to thank everyone once again for coming to my Christmas open house. It was extremely successful, steady stream of people in and out. My thanks to our daughter Jordan for her baked goodies and helping me set up their tree in my studio for the day. I am so grateful for all those that made it. Wish I had had the time to take everyone upstairs to see the rest of the paintings hung up there, it just got a little ahead of me at times. I guess if you didnt get the opportunity to see them you will just have to come back! Love you all!

Here is my pics from Sunday at the end of the Walldogs in Keene meet. At the end of each meet we run around to say our goodbyes ro each other and to see all o...f the amazing public art that was created. Almost all murals were done and the town was a buzz with folks walking from mural to mural reading the stories and learning about the history of the town. Truly blessed to be a part of this group and what we do. Till next time! Paint on! See more

Spent the last few days slinging paint and stories with my Walldog family. I worked with project leader Scott Lindley on the Dr. Johnson Mural. Ours was very high, four floors of scaffolding, but we persevered the climbing and had a blast doing it. Check out all our beautiful murals, Keene New Hampshire June 19-23, 2019. Beautiful little town, now even prettier!

In case people think Ive been just lolligagging about, I am going to post some paintings I have been working on. First a triptych. These pieces are of a bend in the Saugeen River property. The first is photo reference I am working with, and background/primer colour, not finished yet. So you can see how I draw geometric shapes to start with, drawing off grid. This piece will be called Reflections on my life 36 x 24 acrylics on canvas. Next piece is From where the Crayfis...h grow 24 x 36. It is first coat rough primer stage as well. Threw in some beginnings of rocks. And last piece is 95% done, To where the sun hit our backs acrylics and texture paste. This piece is sold. Then I have photo of the 3 so you can see the size. And last photo is of my diptych which I havent named yet, lol. I am torn on name because Im not sure if all the birds in the right hand painting are hens or maybe some jakes. Anyone know? See more

So I attended my first meeting of the Society of Canadian Artists in Toronto in November I was proud to be juried in to the Society last April (2018). I wanted ...to post some photos of the experience but really havent had the opportunity until now. It was held at the famous Arts and Letters Club. For those who arent sure about the venue: The Arts and Letters Club is a private club in Toronto, Ontario Canada which brings together writers, architects, musicians, painters, graphic artists, actors, and others working in or with a love of the arts. The club is located in a historic building (St. Georges Hall) at 14 Elm Street in downtown Toronto. Its premises were designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2007. Among the clubs members, perhaps none have become more famous than the members of the celebrated Group of Seven. According to A.J. Casson, a later addition to the Group, the artists met at the club daily "for company and a good meal." Arthur Lismer drew caricatures of his fellow club members, while J.E.H. Macdonald designed the club crest. The building is a National Historic Site. I am posting a few pictures I took, mostly of the portraits and plaques in the front barroom, a couple in the great hall where we had dinner and the meeting. The Club opened in 1908 so there is a lot of fantastic work, each year different artists given the task of portraying the president in portrait, and the board is there for each year as well. Also a photo taken by Arthur Goss of the Group of Seven at the Club. From Left Varley, Jackson, Harris, (friend) Barker Fairley, Johnston, Lismer, MacDonald. Missing: Carmichael. Of course because what are the chances of getting everyone together eh?
