I just put up a tutorial for this burning on my youtube channel! I wanted to do another one of these as an excuse to try drawing some celtic knots from scratch rather than just tracing them, and Im really happy with how it turned out :) if youre interested in my process for this burning heres the link to the video: https://youtu.be/WE-lsl_7950

I have a new video up on my youtube channel :) I just finished this burning, and I want to say thanks to my Uncle Jim for the great reference photo! This burning is 11"x7" on basswood, with watercolour added to the background. I decided to colour the background to help the owl stand out more, and Im really happy with how it turned out! I tried to use the colour in a way that would compliment the burning without overpowering it or taking away from it, so let me know what you think. If you have a few minutes and want the watch the video here is the link: https://youtu.be/P_RPPUXiPKo

I have a new art video up on my youtube channel!! I usually aim for 1-4 posts a month, but with all thats going on (and since I havent been able to go to work) I thought Id start trying to post two videos per week for the next little while. This little burning of a Kingfisher is 5"x5" on a Birch panel, and I coloured it with Prismacolour pencil crayons. The original photo was taken by Peter Martin. If you have a few minutes and would like to watch the video, here is the link: https://youtu.be/eBPW4c_9lmo If you want to see more of Peters photography this is his instagram: https://www.instagram.com/smileybastard/

I feel pretty good about my first time burning on leather :) this wallet was handmade by a friend of mine whos a leather worker, and I decided to burn a design from The Witcher series because I really enjoyed watching the show and I also liked watching my husband play the third game. Theres also a video for this one up on my youtube channel if you have a few minutes and want to watch it: https://youtu.be/9d1HjO3B3fU If you want to see more of Grahams leather work this is his instagram: https://www.instagram.com/grahamtheleatherguy/

Video: https://youtu.be/ZKb8zEFNJks After an unintentional 8 week break, I thought I would post my newest burning! This one was a commissioned piece that I did for a co-worker, and I completed it almost 6 weeks ago before I left France but with moving back to Canada and everything I just didnt put it on facebook. Its also my first ever landscape burning, and Im really pleased with how it turned out, so I guess Ill have to do some more. Its 6"x8" on European Beechwood.

I decided to shake it up and make a new box this week. A friend suggested that I do a turtle next, and while I dont think this is exactly what she meant, it turned into this. I decided to experiment on the sides with a pattern that I dont normally do; The wood was incredibly soft, and the grain caused the burner to sink in in some places so I got more blots than I would like, but overall Im pleased with the outcome. the felt on the inside is green and the box is approximately 4"x4"x2" :)

Ive been working on a new project and Im really excited to share it with everyone! Ive created a youtube channel for this page where I will be posting weekly videos of my artwork. I started the channel about a month ago and currently have 5 videos, so I thought it was about time to share it, you can watch my latest video here: https://youtu.be/FumHwrESdgo

This is probably the largest burning I have ever done. Its 8"x16" so its still not huge, but im getting there. it took around 10 hours to complete, not including breaks and things. im really pleased with it, please feel free to let me know what you think in the comments :)

Wildwood Studio 16.12.2019

New Woodburning! Its 6"x6" on European Beechwood. I decided to do these snakes for something different because I do so much fur. Im so happy with how they turned out, I hope you like them too! I think they would look even better in a black frame. I cant wait to get back to Canada and try framing some of the artworks Ive made in France :P I cant do it here because everything I buy just adds weight to my suitcase Video: https://youtu.be/VSob3zU2wtg

Wildwood Studio 29.11.2019

My newest Wood Burning! I really liked this image. Sometimes its fun to do something just because its cute, and I also really liked the pattern on the wooden bowl. This burning is 6"x8" and as usual I did it entirely with my razertip burning system.

Wildwood Studio 20.11.2019

I finished this about a week ago and have been meaning to post it since then. i was looking to do an animal ive never done before, and i came across this picture of two hippos and thought it would make a fun burning. Im pretty happy with how it turned out, so i hope you like it. Its 12"x6" pyrography on wood.

Wildwood Studio 23.10.2019

I wanted to do something a little different with this one. It kind of reminds me of the henna designs i do, and im happy with how it looks. I meant to post this last week, but with Christmas and New Years and everything, i forgot. Its quiet small, only 2"x4"

Wildwood Studio 07.10.2019

A little birdy told me that its almost Chrstmas! (sorry, i just couldnt resist) This little bird is 4"x4". I wanted to try adding the leaves in behind since i usually just leave the background plain, and im pretty happy with what they add to the image.

Wildwood Studio 17.09.2019

I tried to work on some darker shading with this little bird. Its about 4"x4" and Im all in all really pleased with it.

Wildwood Studio 10.09.2019

This one is small, about 2"x4". it was a sort of test for me because i am living in france this year, which means i cant go to the art store i ususally go to and get the wood i ususally burn on, so i just did a little abstract to see how this wood would burn. In the end im pretty happy with how it turned out so i thought i would post it.

Wildwood Studio 07.09.2019

I cant believe i never posted a picture of my lion! I completed this burning last august (2016) and was really pleased with it :) so i thought i would share it with you now since its better late then never! Video: https://youtu.be/WL7kTSDjF1M
