Welcome to Wilfrid Jury - Return to Learn! The Wilfrid Jury PS Team is excited to welcome the children to school beginning the week of September 14, 2020, with a staggered entry format approved by the Thames Valley District School Board's trustees. We will be supporting our children at school in smaller groups for their first two designated school days to learn new routines and protocols for a successful school year. We will be focusing on health and safety as well as creati...ng a space of belonging and inclusivity through positive relationship-building to support overall achievement. To foster relationship building, routines and health and safety protocol learning, children whose last name begins with the letters A- I (Group 1) will attend the first week of school Monday, September 14, Tuesday, September 15 and Friday, September 18, 2020. This group of children will remain at home for Wednesday and Thursday and return with all the children on Friday, September 18, 2020, and every day following this date. Children whose last name begins with the letters J-Z (Group 2) will attend school the first week of school Wednesday, September 16, Thursday, September 17 and Friday, September 18, 2020. This group of children will remain at home Monday and Tuesday and return with all the children on Friday, September 18, 2020, and every day following this date. Friday, September 18, 2020, is our first day together as a whole school and we look forward to this monumental day! Following this day together, all children attending Wilfrid Jury using the 'face to face' format will be attending the school site. Recognizing that within many households, not all in the household may share the same last name, all students living at a given address will attend with the EARLIER of the two groups. As an example, if siblings have the last names of Duffy and Squire, the siblings will attend together in GROUP 1 (see above). Please note that while these groupings will give us approximately half the students in our building for each group, individual classes may have greater or less than half the students in attendance as we do not want to ask families to have their children attend separate groups. Please check your email for more information. We will be sharing our First Day procedures along with the structure of your child(ren)’s school day in a future email. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to plan and adapt to the evolving information that we are provided as we ALL work towards our safe return to learning this fall. New Student Registration For students who are not yet registered for school, registration is required by September 1. After September 1, you will need to book an appointment at your school to register. We are not able to take walk-in registrations this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
