Reception area is ready for our new receptionist! Yes thats right, I am happy to announce that we have a new member joining our team on Monday, Lisa Monck will be working part time as our receptionist/administrative assistant! Welcome Lisa!

My plexiglass portable desk shields arrived and work perfectly in my boardroom to allow my clients and I to still be able to see each others facial expressions which is so important for the sensitive and complex issues we discuss.

Our lower courts also need to figure out a way to hold virtual hearings so that families can acccess the justice system. Until then we can try and resolve disputes through negotiations, mediation and arbitration. If you need assistance please contact us at 519-488-5561.

If you do not have a Will and Power of Attorney we can now assist you remotely through video conferences to discuss your estate planning and to sign the documents. Please contact us if you wish to book an appointment to complete these important documents.

Currently courts are dealing with urgent matters- even London, Ontario despite being physically closed. I am encouraging all my clients to be flexible and reasonable while practicing physical distancing and safety.

As COVID-19 continues to impact all of us, I wanted to communicate that my office is working remotely and we are committed to help our clients and the community as best we can. A number of people have been thinking about making or updating a Will and Powers of Attorney. Our office can assist you by conducting remote appointments to take your instructions, drafting your Will and Powers of Attorney, and assisting you with getting your Will and Powers of Attorney executed correctly. As of right now we are still open but doing all appointments via teleconference/Skype until April 8, 2020 and therefore we will be contacting everyone who has upcoming appointments to confirm if the appointment will be teleconference or skype. Please note that if your appointment was to sign documents, we will be moving the appointment to after April 8, 2020. Our office is still operating and only one of us is in the office at a time while the other two work from home, but... we are able to receive your phone calls and faxes via our email and keep files moving. We are still requesting that all clients communicate via email or telephone call and should not attend at our office until after April 8, 2020. All clients scheduled to sign their Wills and Powers of Attorney during this time will also be contacted to be rescheduled. However, if your Will and Power of Attorney is urgent and must be signed right away, please contact us as we can make arrangements for same. Please note that if there is an emergency that requires an urgent motion, we can still complete these and the courts will hear them via teleconference or basket motion (in chambers), but all other court matters are adjourned to June 2020.

Considering the COVID-19 concerns and recommendations from Health Canada and Public Health Ontario, we are requesting that all clients please communicate via email or telephone call rather than attending at our office for the week of March 16 until March 20. For those of you who have appointments scheduled after March 20th, at this time, we are planning on these appointments going ahead for the time being and will be in contact with you directly if there is a further change t...o your appointment. If there is a further change to your appointment, our office has the ability to work remotely and can schedule a teleconference instead. We kindly ask during the coming weeks, that all clients ensure that you scan and email any documents to us, or drop them off in our mailbox, rather than attending in person to protect the safety of us all. I will be in contact with you if adjustments need to be made to any outstanding appointments in the coming weeks. I am sad this week to say goodbye to my talented, dedicated and wonderful Law Clerk Vicki Benoit. We wish her all the best in Ottawa. She will be greatly missed but we support her in this new stage in her and her familys life!
