Councillor JoAnne Moiese shares her perspective on significant WLFN accomplishments in 2020 and sets the stage for Council’s strategic priorities in 2021
Hello Everyone! On behalf of WLFN, I am pleased to announce the success we had with our community project of Give Comfort, Receive Joy. Our goal was to bring the WLFN Community together and nominate 5 WLFN members to receive brand new jackets. We were able to give back to the community with the money we raised from our project Sprinkle of Joy in October 2020. A total of $1,100 was raised and we estimated that we would be able to purchase 5 jackets. We teamed up with Sport... Chek Williams Lake and received amazing deal for our initiative. This helped us purchase 13 jackets. We had other donations come forward prior to the deadline for the nominations and with the additional funds, we purchased a total of 21 jackets! Thank you to our community members and donors for making our project successful. It is amazing how little kindness can go a long way. This has been an amazing initiative! **Nominations are now closed**

Re m-7ímnem re llepllp'éqs m-téytes! (When the turkey gets hungry, it goes gobble gobble...) Merry Christmas and holiday greetings from the Williams Lake First Nation Chief, Council, staff, and membership!
A big thanks to the team at Lake City Ford for building this amazing new addition to the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) fleet! This HD plow truck is ready for the next blast of winter! Thank you Joel, David, Glen, and Willy for the support!
The Williams Lake First Nation would like to remind all community members and staff to be safe this holiday season. With rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in the BC Interior, Williams Lake area, and a diagnosis in our sister community of SXFN, everyone needs to consider their actions and stop the spread. Please avoid non-essential travel. We recognize that these public health orders make it harder for the COVID-19 virus to spread but can also make it harder to feel conne...cted to our families and friends. For support, we can lean into our cultural strengths, knowing that First Nations in BC have a long history of resilience. We have traditions and practices that ground us in the present and keep us well spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. WLFN leadership and EOC staff are keeping up to date on all vaccine distribution planning initiatives as new updates become available. WLFN is confident that our Health Station will have the opportunity to assist in the delivery of vaccine distribution to community members in 2021.
