Luc LaPrairie has been a funeral director since 1984. He starting his career as an apprentice at Gregory's Williams Lake Funeral Home, then 1997 he went out on ...his own and started "La Prairies Alternative Funeral Services", he quickly gained a reputation as "the" funeral director in Williams Lake. In January 2017 he sold his business to Cariboo-Chilcotin Funeral Service Ltd. and joined our team as a mentor and consultant. On May 4th,2018 Luc was honored with a Dedicated Service Award for his commitment and contributions to the profession by the BC Funeral Service Association. Good job Luc! See more
Though it's not something we always want to talk about - sometimes it's difficult topics like death and dying, that in retrospect, we wish we had taken the time... for. If you're looking for more ways to grapple with these thoughts as a result of changing circumstances for yourself or a loved one, Williams Lake Hospice Society may be able to provide some direction. They have many upcoming programs such as a six-week peer-support recovery Grief Recovery Support Group (April 4, 11, 18, 25 & May 2, 9) and End-of-Life Support training, 2nd Annual Hike for Hospice (Sunday May 6th), Hospice Palliative Care Awareness Week (May 612) and much more. Good evening, GA Family. Here's a song for you tonight. Don't give up. Yes, this message was meant for you.
Thursday update. I am sure most have heard the evacuation order has been downgraded to an alert. Those of you who are already home WELCOME. For those of yo...u who left by bus will be coming back either tomorrow or Saturday depending on the busses. For those coming in a couple of days drive safe. For those who are staying away because of air quality I will get the site to check on it but I have been told that the air quality in both Pr Geo and Kamloops have been worse than here on some days. That may be the condition for a while. It is pretty good here. I am guessing not much more than 2 but maybe I am just getting used to it. At times today you would not know there were any fires around. I will probably downgrade my comments to once a day in the evening so I can give a full day report. Have a good evening.
