A free Summit for Women worth checking out!
Jon Gordon is a wellspring of positive inspiration. Today is the first day of his free 14 Day Win Today Challenge so join in if you can.
Here is a newsletter I've subscribed too that I thought you may enjoy too. In this month's Leadership Link Roundup: escape the identity mind trap, questions for a new decade, get unstuck, and more.
Bad habits are often shortcuts to meeting legitimate needs. Think about a bad habit you'd like to change. What need is this bad habit filling? What is the healthy habit that could better fill this legitimate need? Atomic Habits @jamesclear #coaching #leadership
James Clear, the author of Atomic Habits, does an Annual Review that answers these three questions. What went well this year? What didn’t go so well this year? What did I learn?... I love the simplicity of this. His final takeaway from his review, "A life well-lived is a life well-edited." His biggest area of growth he said was prioritization. "In short- Prune away the inessential. Pour yourself into what remains." James Clear James Clear
Push yourself because the views you will see are worth it! #coaching #leadership #adventure #health
Sharing the same values and mission transforms a team. Our theme- We are Family. Pycs Lee Thankful to facilitate and be part of the Pathfinder family since 2006. Once a Pathfinder, always a Pathfinders!
Finding balance takes practice! Having a place like this to play and work from is a dream come true. #grateful #coaching #healthmatters #beautifulbc
When your 25-year-old nephew asks if he can put you through an Ab Workout!!!! Working your muscles to exhaustion. No pain, no gain is real for improvement in this case!
What one word would you want people to use to describe the legacy you will leave on the world? #truenorth #leadership #coaching #servingothers
Tiny choices every day lead to huge gains. What choices are you making today that over time can give you huge incremental gains? As James Clear says, "Small habits and little choices are transforming us every day." (Atomic Habits) #habits #leadyourselfwell #coaching #leadershipdevelopment #thriveversussurvive James Clear
Being comfortable is overrated when you can see where the road to growth can take you. It does mean pushing through fear to face the learning that comes along the way, but it's worth it. Would you agree? #coaching #thriveversussurvive #leadersarelearners #leadershipdevelopment
I love coaching! Excited this week to have fulfilled the requirements of the International Coaching Federation to apply for my Associate Certified Coach designation. I completed 77 hours of training, over 100 hours of coaching clients and 10 hours being assessed by a mentor coach. I am taking on new clients. Message me if you would like to personally experience what coaching can do for you.
Mentorship is life-giving! I believe we all need mentors and should actively look for opportunities to share our lives as a mentor to others who could benefit from our life learning. This year, through TWU’s Business Mentorship program, I was privileged to mentor Rofiat who inspired and motivated me, every time we met. #mentoring #leadership #coaching
What side would you be on? Do you hire for attitude? Or, do you hire for skill? It was a heated debate with a lot of laughter last night in our 'Leadership as Service' class. Love that I have the opportunity to teach the BA in Leadership students at TWU. #leadership #twu #lifelonglearning
Understanding your hardwiring and living in your sweet spot is something I love to see people doing. Even better, when you can see a whole team doing this together like the Pathfinders Youth Centre Society team. We had so much fun doing Birkman together and going over the results individually and as a team. What a powerful tool to affirm and open up great conversations about how to thrive as a team. Love these amazing people and the life-changing work they are doing for at-risk youth in Surrey and Maple Ridge. #coaching #birkman #leadingbyexample #leadership
It's World Book Day. What book would you recommend? The Secret. Do you want to be a leader who knows the secret? Should this be a secret? Leaders serve. For World Book Day, I recommend you read Ken Blanchard's book, The Secret, What Great Leaders Know and Do. #leadership #coaching #servingleader #kenblanchard #worldbookday
What can you do to live outside of your normal to breathe in something extraordinary? #coaching #lifegoals #leadership
Goals without plans are just wishes. I need to look at my plans and do some tweaking! Darn February! Anyone else with me? How do you stick to your plans?
Have you ever been too afraid to take on a leadership role? Bill George is sharing his latest book, Lead True, that revisits his teaching on authentic leadership. It is chalked full of practical insights and examples of current leaders who are leading authentically. This book can take you from fear to focus on how you can be an authentic leader too.
True North by Bill George is one of my favourite leadership books. Stands the test of time. What is one of your favourite leadership books?
Leaning into leadership can also mean stopping and standing tall. #leadership #coaching #thrive
Happy Friday! Thankful to have a partner who pushes me and is always championing me.
Blog post is up with my first book review. A practical and easy read to help me 'Not live in fear or lead in fear'. Would love to know what you think.
In 2019, I want to share my ongoing life-learning about how to Thrive not just Survive this amazing life I have been given. I read or listen to at least one book a week and I want to be more purposefully in applying what I am learning to my life. So, I believe sharing it will help me do this. They say if you want to really learn something then teach it to someone else. #thrive #gratitude #coaching #purpose #willowscoachingandconsulting
Each year I push myself to do things I've never done. This year, in 4 days. I'm excited to go to El Salvador with Terry Willows and the Novacom Team to build houses there.
Today was a beautiful day to start the year and in 4 days I'm heading to El Salvador to help build homes. Each year I push myself to do new things I have never done before. This has gotten me into running a half-marathon, doing triathlons, weightlifting, my Masters in Leadership and this past year, starting my Coaching business. So, join me! What will you do this year that you have never done before?
3 inspiring minutes to remind us it's easy to give a helping hand. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year dear friends. Thankful for all you have given to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubXAecnmSwc
This wall is only a fraction of the lives changed by Pathfinders Youth Centre Society. I am thankful to be helping students again coaching them a couple days a week. If you are a past participant and you are reading this, I'd love others to hear your story. Once a Pathfinder, always a Pathfinder.
Thankful. Lest we never forget.
Yesterday's blue skies have been traded for rain! I am thankful to live in such a beautiful place and to live in Canada. May we never forget the sacrifice of lives lost so we could enjoy the freedom we so easily take for granted.
Crazy but we are empty nesters! I think that means we've done well as parents but.....
Empty nesters! I think I'm loving this but not so sure!! Would you agree, parenting is the biggest job with the least amount of training! With the 3 C's of parenting, I've moved through Choreographer and Coach. Now I am their Consultant... when they ask! #coaching #emptynesters
I've helped my clients and I've been working myself to identify Limiting Beliefs so we can replace them with Liberated Truths. It feels so much better living and embracing life when you fight against lies or half-truths you have told yourself. Liberating Truths feels truly liberating and that is the kind of life I want to lead and help my clients live! One of my favorite quotes, "Let the record book show you won, or let it show you lost, but don't let it show you failed to play the game." Anonymous If you want to connect, please message me.
This red jellyfish washed up on our beach this weekend. Today I learned, jellyfish are brainless, bloodless and mostly aimless in where they choose to go. So, although this creature was very beautiful to see, I do not want to live my life like a jellyfish!
What do you wish you knew then, that you know now? #smartsavvy #leaderlounge delivered an incredible night of inspiration and life lessons on this very topic. #tamarataggart closed the night reminding us, ‘No’ is a full sentence. You can think you are living out your values but say 'Yes' when the answer in hindsight should have been 'No'!
Had a great day yesterday speaking to the new MA Leadership class at TWU.
How to THRIVE not just Survive your MA Leadership Degree! This is what I shared with new students today at TWU. I encouraged them to know their 'Why' to keep them focused and determine their 'How' so they would THRIVE not just survive.
My desire to be healthy and disciplined isn't enough. I need a partner to push me and cheer me on. Who do you have pushing you and cheering you on?
Goal setting, big or small, is something I do every day. As Peter Drucker said, "Your goal leads you to work for results. It converts intention into action." What intentional goals are you setting for yourself every day? Maybe you need a coach or challenging cheerleader, as I like to call myself, to help you move from where you are to where you want to be. Message me if you'd like to see if coaching would be good fit for you.
At 51 it feels great to have created healthy morning habits that include running, biking, paddle boarding, kayaking and weight training. Habits as Charles Duhig...g teaches have a loop: Cue- Routine-Reward! All habits good or bad follow this loop so you can change your habits if you understand your habit loop. For me, I like to move in the morning but my routine only improved and the rewards increased when my husband and I started doing it 6 days a week together. Do you have habit loops that you want to change or improve upon? See more
What have you done this year that you have never done before? To stay young, I have always pushed myself to do new things every year. It's how I got up on these high ropes while doing my Master's degree and why I've done a half-marathon, triathlons, taken up snowboarding, kayaking, paddle boarding, weight lifting etc. My latest adventure is completing my professional coaching designation and starting Willowtree Coaching and Consulting. May I never grow old as I push myself to live my best life and inspire others to do the same. So, if you have not done something new this year, what are you going to do? If you need a challenging cheerleader, I am here for you.
Read this great quote today and then found a video by the author that I thought was worth sharing. "Remember that if you don't prioritize your life, someone else will." Greg McKeown... He writes about the disciplined pursuit of less but better. How: 1. Exploring critical things you want to pursue 2. Eliminate the rest 3. Build a platform for effortless execution so doing what is essential becomes the default position, not just the rare occasion.
Married 30 years, this year, my life has never been boring thank's to my husbands motto....
Coaches should ask powerful questions. Here is a question I recently asked someone I was coaching.
Excited! This is happening and I made it live yesterday. Check it out, like and share.
I've reached goals this past year by being accountable, mindful and intentional. Having a coach has been key to helping me do this. Let's chat if you think this could be good for you.
