Update: We have been in contact with the owner of the dog in the picture that was sent to us. Thank you Cortney Shyla Mclellan for chatting with me. Many peopl...e and dogs joined our efforts to help find Axle in the early days; Cortney and Sadie were among those. To clear things up... NO ONE was in her backyard intentionally. The picture was sent to us by a passerby who saw the dog and only in precaution sent us the picture in case it was Axle. For those who have missed my posts over the last three months, this was not the first lead or sighting in the area where this picture was taken and every lead is worth a follow up. We do not intend to steal or take someone else’s dog. Those who send us pictures are doing so only to help find Axle and not because they’ve been task to stalk or watch someone’s house. Losing Axle has been traumatic and we would NEVER inflict that pain, sadness, stress and worry on anyone else. Again, thank you Cortney for connecting with us. ******************* This picture was shared with us today (dog outside): When compared to our missing boy there are many similarities. Yes, we get that this might not be him and that others have shepherds... this picture isn’t the first from this location and brings us back to an old lead. We will not disclose the actual location publicly to protect our efforts in finding Axle but to this we say, if this is Axle and you are following this page or come across our posts on Facebook, do the right thing and return him to us as we will pursue this lead and we will not rest until Axle is home where he belongs. We give YOU the opportunity to do the right thing.... the clock is ticking...

After 4 weeks to the day, and to the actual hour she ran off, Penny was found. A friend of ours had received a call that Penny had been spotted up by the quarry..., off Springhill road. Ben and our neighbor/friend went up to take a look, and confirmed that it was indeed her. We spoke with our team, and decided to set a trap. Ben has left some food for her, and this morning went back to check if she had eaten it. He entered the shack, and there she was, curled up in a ball with the food beside her. Penny was lost and didn’t know how to come back home, as we had only had her for 23 hours before she ran off. She had made a home in the shack and had been sleeping there for a while, we think. She saw Ben, but didn’t run off. Ben laid beside her as she shook in fear. He carried her home, and she immediately gave me a hug when she saw me!! I was beyond happy to see her! We decided for the next few days to have her stay at 2 members of our teams house. They’re very qualified and are dog rescuers. Penny is now in decompression. She’s sleeping lots and drinking lots! We are so very thankful for Denise Coulombe & Louyze Coulombe for ALL of there support through this 4 week search. They were out Day and night following leads, setting up barbecues, and following tracks. Also huge thanks to our neighbor and friend Julie Werner. Without her connections we never would have found Penny! Kim Wilson also played a massive part in finding Penny. She was out every day searching, helping in anyway she could. We are SO thankful Penny is safe and sound. Thank you for all of your shares, comments and messages. We have a great community!!

What an incredible day!! After four weeks of searching almost every day, Penny has been found and brought back home to her family. I can't possibly express how much we have appreciated everyone's efforts in making this happy day possible. Thank you to all those closely involved, thank you to everyone who watched for her and shared our posts, and thank you to all those who tolerated us being in your communities, stopping you on the streets and knocking on your doors. Kind and caring people made this happen and we are all very grateful. Penny will be loved and well fed tonight.

Hopefully there will be a new sighting of Penny today...or Axle. People are still searching the Fredericton and surrounding areas for both of these dogs. Watch for tracks, check under decks, etc. Help us bring them home!!
