Sometimes little things make a world of difference to some people....... A random act of kindness in the wilderness I would like to acknowledge the kindness of Tim Hastings, owner of Windsock Lodge of Long Lake, Nopiming Provincial Park in helping out a couple of stranded canoeists in need of assistance. My partner and I had planned a recent canoe trip along the Manigotagan River, however, we started at the wrong location and found ourselves kilometres from our destination. A...lone on a gravel road, we waited with hope that someone may come along. The appearance of a truck filled us with anticipation that our misfortune would be assisted by northern Manitoba hospitality. We were not disappointed as Tim, hearing of our situation, gladly agreed to transport us, our canoe and gear to Long Lake where we could continue our planned river adventure. The rest of the trip was memorable, enhanced by the much appreciated kindness that we received from Tim. Bill Morgan
