Happy Kinesiology Week! Aerobic Activities : Compared to just sitting around most of the time, moderate-intensity physical activity is associated with better immune function. Regular physical activity can help reduce your feelings of stress and anxiety. The Physical Activity Guidelines recommend 150-300 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity and 2 sessions per week of muscle strength training. If you are planning to become much more physically active than you are now, you can consult a Kinesiologist to guide you through your process. Ask your primary care provider for a referral to the #WindsorTeamCareCentre today! Learn more about Kinesiology here: https://www.cka.ca/en/welcome

Along with many other providers and allied health impacted by the pandemic, ours had to shift their methods of care through offering virtual options. Although no formal training was offered to support them in this transition, they appreciated the need to leverage different platforms to be accessible to their patients. Thank you to our health care professionals for being flexible and creative during a challenging time. Thank you for reading our posts this week during Community Health and Wellbeing Week!

Pictured here are just a few of our wonderful Team Care Centre staff members. When the pandemic hit, they quickly adapted to changes to clinic processes. While #TeamCareCentre in-person services were put on hold, the team supported our primary care providers and took on well-baby visits in their office space to continue to provide the preventative care they needed while reducing their risk of COVID-19 transmission. Now that their doors have re-opened, they are busy doing what they do best, while still supporting a healthy recovery for our community. Thank you, #TCC team members!

Tamara, RPN (right) has been a valuable asset before and during the pandemic. Her daily work routine changed when the pandemic hit, but this didn’t bother her. One of her little-known tasks that has been incredibly necessary during the pandemic was to help maintain our stock of PPE (personal protective equipment). This is only one of the many ways she continues to support a healthy recovery for our community. Allaina (left) is our Nurse Health Promoter who plays a role an illness prevention, health promotion and is an ambassador for wellness. She is a catalyst for promoting healthier lifestyles through the team’s support. Thank you,Tamara and , for supporting a healthy recovery in our community.

During the early days of the pandemic, our social workers freed up time in their schedules to offer brief counselling sessions ons for those with anxieties around the COVID-19 pandemic. They are still hard at work and have returned to seeing patients in person, along with continued phone and video appointments. Our social workers support a recovery that works for everyone. Thank you to all of our social workers, for supporting a healthy recovery for our community #CHWW2020 Alliance for Healthier Communities / Alliance pour des communautés en santé

Most of the individuals pictured here have been working behind the scenes of the Windsor Family Health Team’s COVID-19 response since the start of the pandemic. Individually and collaboratively, they’ve taken on new challenges that have helped to minimize disruptions in patient services, keep our team connected, and provide information that guides our office protocols. Although some of these faces may not be as familiar to our patients, their work is critical to our team and we are thankful for their enthusiasm. Thank you for your dedication to our team, our patients, and our community.

Our receptionists have taken on many new tasks due to the pandemic. They now take the time to screen every patient over the phone before they visit the clinic. Our receptionists helped set up many patients with virtual video visits. Every time reception is faced with a new challenge, they tackle it head-on without hesitation! Thank you, reception team, for supporting a healthy recovery for our community.

Dr. Paquette and Stephanie, RPN, have been hard at work since the start of the pandemic. Dr. Paquette took part in daily meetings through March and April that helped us guide our office protocols. Stephanie, as one of our clinic nurses, played a huge role in ensuring changes to office protocols were practical, and patient health and safety was always top of mind for her. The two participated in the virtual Essex-County Medical Society Clinical Education day today, to gain knowledge from other professionals in the community and their experiences with COVID-19. Thank you, Stephanie and Dr. Paquette, for supporting a healthy recovery in our community.
