Interesting fact: Wine from a bottle can spoil quickly (or over a few short days). As you pour wine from a bottle, the void is replaced by air, which is what can spoil the wine. However, wine from a box will last weeks! This is becasue the spout does not allow air to pass through the spout and into the bag. The bag is designed to deflate (compress) as you pour from the spout. Also, most box wines have 4 to 4.5 regular bottles of wine in each box. So the volume is greater in a box wine for a comparable cost! Experts feel that we will likely see more wines come in the form of a box becasue it cuts down on packaging and less to recycle!
