Sifu Tony Frighetti started training in Wing Chun, in 1988, under Sifu Augustine Fong, in Tucson Arizona. He is the 5th person to be certified as an instructor by Sifu Fong. Tony teaches Wing Chun at Sifu Fong’s school to this day. Bio to come... Sifu Frighetti has given seminars in Ottawa, in the past. The reason I hosted him (when I was teaching) was because he is an extremely good hands on teacher and is able to cover both theory and physical ability in a way which is unde...rstandable and precise. He tends to pack in a lot of information at a fast rate. Anyone who’s ever attended one of his seminars, regardless of rank, were very impressed and walked away with improvement to their structure, chi sau, timing, amazing drills and a better understanding of the style, etc. Regardless of rank or lineage, this seminar is well worth attending. There is plenty to digest. Patrick Gordon. What will be covered: - covering your structure throughout sil lim tao, in order to build a strong foundation for heavy chi sau. Learn to use proper structure in order to refrain from using muscle. - through chi sau, learn to understand the usage of twist and lock to secure your structure and the usage of cutting edge to secure your position. - work at improving basic drills such as dan chi sau and lop sau, in order to improve structure and learn to control your power or turn it off, meaning that if you can turn it off first, you are able to flow with superior timing than your opponent. - learn to develop the usage of natural power, in order to develop proper structure and feeling during chi sau. - learn the usage of 20 hand motions and how to apply them in chi sau. learn why passive becomes active and active becomes passive during attacks in chi sau. question and answer session. - if time allows, chum kiu may be discussed and worked on.
