WINGS West Kelowna and WINGS Kelowna- Rutland, suffered terrible loss. Our beloved kitchen worker, Dan Bradford, has left us to a better place where he can be p...ain free after months of suffering. He was a hard worker and we will all miss his incredible positivity. I remember the first time I met Dan and I just loved his incredible ability to make us all feel like our problems are nothing because of his genuine zest for life. This man loved his family and was so proud to bring them in to where he worked to "show off". I would repeatedly ask him if he needed to go home and his response was always "Brent, I'm good, let's rock this". He was always so proud to tell me how he was working on "the mansion" on his days off and all I could think was "Dude, you just need to relax!" That wasn't in his vocabulary. We will have a warm beer (that's how he liked it) at our restaurant in West Kelowna in honour of you, my friend. You were the best of the best as far as humans go. You raised some wonderful children and that is your legacy. Your son is one of our best employees and that credit totally goes to you as a father. Cheers to you my friend, my heart is heavy. Everyone that knew you is blessed to have spent time with you. Those that didn't know you are truly missing out. Cheers my friend and rest in peace. See more

The victim can often work the first portion of the day but report to Wings by 3 pm Friday Aug 14. The victim often partakes in happy hour beverages and game day features during the game in order to feel fantastic. This condition re-appears at various time and coincides with Vancouver Canucks playoff games. Some conditions don’t always cause absence from work the day of the game but can cause grogginess on days following the affliction. Totally curable with the hoisting of a Stanley Cup by the Canucks.

In a world where it seems the offender gets more headlines than the victim, where the disaster story gets all the attention and the "feel good" story gets buried in the end of the broadcast (time permitting). A world where when we are asked to do something for the respect of others feels like a violation of our rights instead of an act of kindness. I feel like it needs to be said that 99.9% of the customers we are so fortunate to have enter our business have been so understan...ding, kind and respectful. As an owner of a couple of businesses during these uncertain and unprecedented times, I have had to learn to do everything in my power to change the things I can control and not worry about the things I can't control. These things are out of my hands. My staff and I have spent time trying to convince customers that the rules are there for their safety and the safety of everyone involved in their visit and people they come in contact with after they leave our place. This is a futile effort and doesn't deserve any more energy than just stating the rules. What does deserve more energy is the gratitude and appreciation to the fantastic customers that are going about their day, trying to follow the rules and selflessly waiting until this whole mess gets back to "normal". These people are the true shining stars throughout our sometimes crazy days. Even though it is exhausting for all of us in the service industry to continually enforce these new rules, it is so enlightening to welcome and serve the happy, compliant customers...you all make all this worth it!! Thank you to all the great customers we are so fortunate to serve on a daily basis!!

Well this heat wave has prompted us to install a cooling system for our valued kitchen workers! This work will be getting done on Friday July 31st so we will be expanding our renovation closure to include this day. So to be clear... WINGS West Kelowna will be closed for upgrades and renovations from July 31 to Monday Aug 3, opening all pretty and fresh Tuesday Aug 4 at 11 am!! Have a fantastic holiday weekend!! To be clear...this is a planned upgrade and has nothing to do with any of the current global, provincial, or community events currently plaguing our planet. We continue to adhere and practice the highest measures in safety and sanitation protocols.
