Like so many other listeners in our community, I'm anxiously awaiting to hear the fate of a couple of our local radio stations. These stations seemed to be everywhere I was throughout the years; at local events and fundraisers, played throughout local establishments, and at many many concerts. This page thanks you for all the laughs, smiles and great music you provided throughout the years to so many music lovers. Thank you for all the great Canadian artists you brought into ...our lives. Thank you 89X for being an important part of my teen years, as I was navigating my way through those sometimes very confusing years, that only music helped make sense. Thank you for the music and the impact!

HOLIDAYS ARE JUST AROUND THE CORNER! Please keep your eyes open for a flyer coming to your mailbox about creating a mini Bright lights right here in Riverside. ...My daughter was quite disappointed that the Windsor Bright Lights are cancelled this year, so we are making up a flyer to encourage the neighbourhood to really do it up this year. Pull out all the decorations and lights, make a spectacle! Help your neighbours who may not be able to do it themselves! It would be lovely to stroll around your own local streets (and social distance of course) and get into the Holiday spirit! Let’s keep the holidays festive, even during Covid! This is an altered Windsor Zombie Walk this year which I help to ...organize, with proceeds going to the Downtown Mission. UPDATE!!! Be A Santa to a Senior - This year of all years makes gift giving even more important for our isolated, lonely and financially challenged seniors. We ...will be running the program this year with some modifications. In order to accommodate Public Health recommendations and COVID-19 precautions we will not have a tree with bulbs to be picked up at our office instead we are asking the following; - Individuals and businesses to donate gift packages that are comprised of the following items (Male/Female); Blankets, hats, gloves/mitts, scarves, toiletries, non-slip socks, Kleenex, activity/adult colouring books, puzzles etc. - Individuals and business to donate gift cards for groceries or general items If you have purchased a gift package for an individual (male/female) please return them in individual gift bags unwrapped. We will be accepting gift donations starting November 12, 2020 through December 4, 2020 Dropping off Gifts 1. There is a drop off area outside the front doors of our office 2. We are constantly amazed by the generosity and compassion of our Via Italia members and community. Frank Vella, owner of Medica Pharmacy at 1210 Erie Street Ea...st, wanted to continue on in the spirit of gratitude and giving and decided to sponsor over 500 individual meals to those in need, with the help of Mezzo Restaurant & Lounge. The meals were humbly and respectfully donated and delivered to Windsor Downtown Mission - DTM, The Windsor Youth Centre, Hiatus House, The Salvation Army Windsor, Welcome Centre Shelter for Women, Street Help and Drouillard Place over the course of the past week by Frank himself and Filip from Mezzo. We are continually awestruck by the kindness and selflessness of our Via Italia members and community.
