Ink & watercolor of barges I did today while camping at Osborne Bay, Crofton.

Pen & watercolor sketch I did yesterday. Derwent Inktense watercolors, Uniball black roller 0.5 mm pen on Strathmore 5x7 inch ready cut hot press paper.

I've been able to get THREE ink & watercolors while camping in Campbell River this past week!

Had the day off due to weather conditions and was able to do an ink & watercolor instead.

Ever wondered how a pencil sharpener works?

I just finished the third module in the Urban Sketching Course with Ian Fennelly that I am taking online. This time, we were tasked with doing a rural scene, as opposed to an urban scene (apparently "urban sketching" includes both urban & rural scenes-who knew?) The reference photowe worked from is in the middle, Ian's sketch is on the left and mine is on the right. I was really apprehensive about doing a "rural" scene, but once I got started it turned out to be a lot of fun!

I recently started an online course in Urban Sketching with instructor, Ian Fennelly. For my first assignment, I followed the lesson with Ian on location. You can see the reference photo on top of my rendering of it and Ian's version beside. I really like his style and his process. I found this exercise a lot of fun to do, without a lot of stress that normally goes with using watercolors. Looking forward to the rest of the course! #ianfennelly #watercolor #urbansketching

Got inspired to draw Mike Mignola's "Lobster Johnson" yesterday. I'm a fan of Mike's Hellboy comics and really like this character. He's a renowned Nazi hunter in WW2. His line is, "With my claw, I will inflict justice." How great is that?
